Some pictures and opinions on my old Fein Dustex 40. I'm now using a Protool VCP 260 L-E-AC. My general findings comparing the Fein Dustex 40 and the Protool VCP 260 is that the perceived noise level both units produce is pretty much identical to my hearing. The difference being the Protool has a higher pitched sound compared to the Fein, which makes the Protool a bit more annoying to hear all day long. But the noise the powertool makes pretty much renders this moot, but still thought I'd mention it Regarding suction, the difference is quite small, but noticeable enough to say the Fein has a bit stronger suction at the nozzle. (Unscientific test at full suction & the same 5m 36mm AS Festool hose was also used on the Protool) In summary: The reason I got this vac is that I find myself more and more on the move and I was really looking to get a somewhat more compact vac on which I can mount systainers to be, you guessed it, more compact/mobile. Though my Fein is an awesome vac to have in a fixed position in a shop, it's not very compact/ergonomic to lug around from place to place. It has served me well though. When I noticed many dealers starting Protool clearance sales I managed to get this unit at a very good price point (compared to the Festool AC brother). Not my first choice, but here we are.

What is that supple hose I see hanging? Is it the Fein? Worth it?

I've got the 35mm anti static mafell 5m hose and it is no where near as flexible as that. When using if you twist a,certaon way it will come off. I wish it just put and locked on to the vac and could turn 360 degrees. Just a pet hate

Im beginning to wonder if I need the anti static hose.... I use a regular gray hose with my MT55. I get shocked sometimes but its not much of a bother. It's the same basic static electricity shock ya get from fabric etc. No big deal in my opinion but it does happen.
