That's the LS positioner. I see 2 problems with that. Possible deflection (it's only anchored in 1 spot instead of 3) and am I really accurate enough to mount it perfectly straight with the blade? Prolly not.
For stuff like that I trust the factory more than myself.

Prolly not. For stuff like that I trust the factory more than myself. For a router it would work, and it was in response to the quoted question. I am with you conceptually, plus I would not want to unscrew it all the time, whereas "on their rails" seems to jump off the machine easier.

Is anyone else in Australia interested in an Erika? Still awaiting the shipping quote, but it was mentioned "a euro pallet", so it could be shipping for two is close to shipping for 1... lincoln

I used my erika exclusively for all my trim work and crown molding for several years. My mitre saw stayed home. I felt it was a real challenge to move quickly and efficiently doing compound mitres and cutting copes ( yes, copes with the tablesaw, not coping saw).
To only bring in one tool to the job site was nice, but it is tough to beat a mitre saw for quick. Time is money, Now I bring both the kapex, and erika. So I don't need to wait for the mitre saw when my son is working with me. Also I put my erika on a ballBearing carousel so I could keep my stock supported in the right direction. One of the reasons I went with the 55, was size and ease of transport. the sliding rail is adjusted with 4-6 screws. Pretty quick!

I'd like to see the casters as well. and your technique for coping on the table saw.

I have spent a few hudred dollars restoring my erika 55. One of that most attractive features is it's 46 lbs. I bring the table and rail in separate. 2allen screws and a small adjustment. It is quick and easy. These older models don't have the built in legs. I used an old workmates 400. Once set up on the job, I tend to go to it often.

Help! I've tried to insert my video attachment. They say it's too small! It's 3 1/2 .minutes! as to coping with my erika, I set the blade to 31.6*. High lite the edge to end grain, and slowly 1/4" at a time nibble away. Works pretty slick
