With the expanding block their is a bunch of shims of varying thickness ranging from 0.1mm to 5mm if I remember correctly. I can't tell you all the sizes and how many their is but they all get used at the same time. Now if you want to groove 15.4mm the block goes on the machine both parts together then all the spacers and locking nut then goes on. Now if you want to cut max width the first part of the block goes on then all the spacers the the second part of the block and finally the locking nut. Then if you want to cut in between with say 21mm, the first part of the block goes on. The desired spaces to make the width then the second part of the block goes on then the remaining spacers and finally the locking but. Basically that's how it is done. There is 2 pubs that go through the spacers into the other block if I remember correctly

Did you end up keeping it? I'm serious about buying on of these strictly to get out of dadoes done of the tablesaw or with a router. I'd like to have dedicated 1/2" and 3/4" blades, but I can make do without them since 3/4" is within the range of the set and I can offset the cutter blade for 1/2" on edges.
I saw a thread here about getting dedicated cutting heads made and I might pursue that for a 1/2" cutting blade.

I didn't keep as I hardly do grooves yet when I have done since with the router I now think what a rubbish way to do it. I can see myself purchasing when funds allow

I can see myself purchasing when funds allow I agree that the router is a terrible way to do dadoes. For the occasional one it is fine, but any more than that a better solution is needed. I also have a dedicated tablesaw for dadoes, but it is painful to change sizes and handle large panels is very awkward.
