Wow! Granted, it's not the "latest + greatest" version, but it's a great vacuum. Particularly for those who'd mostly be using this for sanding and woodworking, this would be a great deal.
One thing to note is, this version ships with a 35mm non antistatic hose, so depending on how you'd want to use the vac, you'd have to factor in whether you'd want/need to add a 27mm or 36mm antistatic hose.
I've been using a Mafell S-35 vac the last several months and really like it, I wish I had held on to my older Metabo vac.

New Starmix systainer/lboxx adapter plate coming! From the FOG forum Starmix published/released this on German forum: werkzeug-news.de. ( www.werkzeug-news.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=42671 ) Adaptor plate to mount T-Loc & Classic Systainer or L-Boxx (and another new, not yet released toolbox system) to Starmix compact and i-Pulse dust extractors. Other toolboxes can be mounted by using straps. Power cord and hose can be stored/mounted on adaptor plate. Adaptor plate can be mounted to all Starmix compact and i-Pulse dust extractors without using tools. Compatible with all future Starmix dust extractors. Adaptor plate will feature 4 marked spots for drilling, which can be used to attach adaptor plate to other manufacturers dust extractors - if layout is compatible

This is great!
It's funny, I've been getting used to using my Mafell S-35 sans docking station, it certainly helps keep it small and nimble by eliminating the impulse to attach tool boxes to it, but I can absolutely see myself picking one of these up should they be available in North America.
Does this plate attach to the vacuum via screws then?
It's nice to see Starmix follow Nilfisk lead in developing an adapter plate that accommodates both Systainer and Sortimo/L-Boxx cases, very wise on their behalf.
I wonder if the different license holders (Mafell, Metabo, Rokamat, Hitachi, etc....) will have their own plate, or if we'll just be ordering direct from Starmix?

Probably too late for this (ie the metabo twofer offer), but would anyone in SoCal have been interested in taking one of the pair? I don’t need two.

Since it's down to the wire, I don't think it's too much of a gamble if you bought the pair online and sold the other one locally. So many people wouldn't know about the deal and you're selling a brand new unopened unit. You might even come out a bit ahead.

I ordered a pair of the Metabo vacs for myself and a friend. Apparently the Acme website sold out very quickly, but my sales manager tracked down a few vacs up in Duluth. These may not show up on the Acme website, so you might need to call them directly. As of Monday, he said there's only a handful left.
