Bosch and Flex also use the Mafell guide rail system, the rails and accessories are all identical except for the branding of course.
There's been a lot of talk about how awesome connecting these rails is. So I thought it might be useful for those who haven't actually seen it in action yet, to have a little video.
I found a Bosch video demonstrating the rail system. You can clearly see the ease of joining guide rails and how the connector just stores on the rail itself.

Great vid! I love that I don't need a special tool to tighten the connector, I often use my keys, this guy uses a quarter! theres no flipping the rail over to tighten dual connectors and no risk of stripping the connecting screws. It's bang on straight when tightened you don't need to check with a straight edge or buy a 3rd party straightening device. Far superior design. For those that don't know, there's no adhesive glue used to attach the splinter strip either it clicks into the extrusion. I've yet to replace one but it seems rather sturdy

Some quick shakey cellphone footage. It's not the best of videos, and this is actually my first time doing this, so please cut me some slack

Good Video!
I think new guys to Mafell will find this very compelling.

I don't need it now, but I wonder how do you change the sacrificial strip?

Fidelfs, you can pull them out and put a new one in. The rail extrusion has slots for them. Most people are used to having to: - Peel off the strip - Remove remaining adhesive with a scraper, heatgun, chemical, ... - Add new adhesive tape - Tape on a new strip None of that is needed here, you take it out and put in a new one, done. And because of these extrusions, they also don't peel off at the ends. It's another one of those things that goes to show how much thought goes into the stuff Mafell develops and how their products save you time.

It also gives you a much thicker splinter strip. Nice and sturdy

My rails are 143mm wide once the anti splinter strip is cut.

I have just acquired a kss400 and would be grateful if one of the members could provide a definitive answer as to the compatibility of this saw with the current range of Bosch guide rails . I'm aware there has been previous post on this subject but from online images of the rail profile its not apparent how this would fit the base of the kss , is some sort of adapter required.

no adapter needed, the rail is identical to mafell rails as i understand. this saw should be 100% compatible.
