This forum was kind of started because of the interest generated on another forum. Wasn't really kosher to go into how I preferred a lot of this brand over theirs.

We are open for real discussion about tools. Its not about brand loyalty; its about the best solution for the task. I remember getting threads on several forums locked or deleted talking about Mafell. This was years ago before the MT 55 even made it to the USA. We don't get offended easily here so post as many questions or concerns as you need.

Well, it happen again. They locked the post again.
I was trying to be fair with all my posts, giving facts and not letting my feeling going overboard. Their credibility as a company is shambles in my opinion from now on. Who am I to treat a big company, I think it is the people that they don't want to open their eyes and hide behind a give the impression that "we went to far", "this is festool forum and we allow it, as far we could". My opinion is that forum has become a advertisement tool for festool USA and nothing more.
I am not the one who created to forum "Other tools" it was the forum (previous or current forum owner, it doesn't matter), they open a can of worm and they want to regulate.
Well, they have lost me. I won't post there any more. I am not a big lost for them, but nonetheless I won't be the last one.
Back to business! I will keep with my review only on this side.

I saw that. IMO Festool have got egg on their face as their flagship saw is off the market and for those who are looking for a premium grade competitor are looking this way. You're not the first to post about mafell over there and you wont be the last. As a corporate run website though they're in a bit of a predicament when very active posts are rooting for the "other team". Again, there's no money involved here so your opinions are always welcome.

I didn't think anything was posted that was out of line. I agree with Ghostfist, Festool is in a bit of a bind not having the TS55 available and the thread was getting a fair number of views. I don't agree with it getting locked over posting two bad links though. I didn't realize that linking to this forum wasn't allowed.

I also wasn't aware that this forum was outright banned. shane asked me not to advertise it there and i haven't, as far as users posting linked pictures to this site I don't see what the problem was. what ever, this is the place to talk about mafell stuff so post away.

Well, I guess this forum is not allowed in FOG. I read on some explanation of what is allowed or not. It was never on the FOG guidelines, they just pull it out of their hat.

It's not that this forum is not allowed on FOG I've just had a lengthy conversation with Shane over there regarding the situation, he's understandably on edge because of those Festool competitor videos. They were dishonestly presented to the FOG by dealers trying to make a name for themselves. It is a Festool owned and operated website and really you have expect them to pull the plug eventually. There are no hard feelings between our forum and theirs.

Well, he just stated that the filter prevents of making a link to this forum. It is all right it is their prerogative.
From Shane " In essence, it stated that I felt there was some strong promoting going on. That would include typing around the word filter to promote a forum that advocates another power tool brand."
Like I said, it is their prerogative and it is their own website domain. Nothing to be done, we accepted the rules (my problem is we don't know specifically the rules) and we have to obey them.

ya that was also straightened out with Shane as per our conversation. Wether we're on there or not doesn't really concern me, I'm happy to abide by their guidelines there as it is a good forum. It's our user experience that will make this one. Get building something already

Fidelfs-
If you feel slighted and dont want to continue at the FOG thats understandable but I wouldnt let this situation get in your way of contributing on the FOG. I've had numerous threads locked and deleted on the FOG and I continue to read and post. I just remind myself that they are a company looking to make money so everything has to be in there favor. Theres nothing wrong with that since its there advertising dollars. Festool still has some great tools and will continue to have great tools and the FOG is the best place to get answers and the latest info about those tools.
If the FOG was completely open to discussion than this forum wouldn't exist. This site was started to allow non-biased opinions that aren't affiliated by dollars. No one on this forum is getting as much as a free sticker from Mafell or a penny for advertising. Its like being debt free!

I like the debt free!!!. My problem is every post that Shane makes about this issue, he is contradicting himself of what the reason he gave me to lock the post. I was the one who message him, telling him that I don't have any relationship with Mafell other that letting Mafell take the money from my wallet, same as Festool. FOG in my opinion has turned more like facebook, every one is patting each others back. There is so much honey on Facebook that you become diabetic so quickly I rather hear facts, issues and how to resolve, that how blue is the sky all the time. There is another festool forum and it is a shame that is not used more.

Hopefully I don't get booted, I probably rattled the hornets nest a bit too much. Although I am still a little surprised at how offended people get at the mention of Mafell there. Oh well, as Jalvis and Ghostfist mentioned the FOG is still a good resource when it comes to Festool or woodworking in general. On a positive and more relative note, I sold my TS75 today! So now I can finally look at adding the MT55 to the stable ?

Drama aside congrats on getting closer to the MT55. I get bummed out when I have a lengthy job that doesn't require my 55 at all. I love that tool.
Thanks for your recent videos.
