I won't deny the TS55R looks pretty sexy. I especially like the blade housing. However, the build quality and the durability of Mafell outshines Festool and in the end I think we want are tools to be quality, not pretty, but it's a nice bonus admittedly For me, the most decisive factor for trading up to a MT55 was the superior dust collection and in 2nd place the fact that while using a MT55 and TS55 side by side with my father for about 2months, it was very clear to me Mafell withstands jobsite (ab)use a bit better. Enjoy your new gem fidelfs, run it through it's paces some more and get back to us with some more feedback. I always love learning about other people's experiences.

Ok, second impression. It is smoother. A lot more power and the dust extraction is second to none.
The TS55 throws dust when the blade exit the cut at the end, the MT55 doesn't. That means less clean up at the end and my wife will let me work inside when it is too hot in Texas.
The rails are superior as well, the sacrificial strip is thicker so you can tell exactly where you are cutting. It is hard to explain but it is easy to set on top of the mark with the bosch/Mafell rails.
I had to start my TS55 at let it run at full speed before the plunge, if not I got kick back. I tried that on purpose with the MT and I didn't get any kick back. I didn't start the cut really slow, but the saw was not at full speed.
I can tell that is a superior saw, Festool is good but it is not at the same caliber. I will keep posting more this following days.
I am happy.

Glad to hear you like it fidelfs. This saw will put a few more smiles on your face down the road. A few that come to mind are setting a bevel with a single knob, changing a blade, joining guide rails. Whenever I do any of these things I always think back of my TS55 days and how much faster Mafell has made these operations. I look forward to reading more about your experiences with the MT55cc. Ghostfist, LOL, but that video is kind of creepy for lack of a better word

Is the performance of the machine making it look more sexy? Sounds like a dumb question but for me when one item works better than another then I also start liking the look more too.

Its the green that is hard to get over since most of us associate it with quality. It wasnt a hard transition for me since I like Red better anyway;)

Sounds like a dumb question but for me when one item works better than another then I also start liking the look more too. let me tell you , I think I agree with you. After I tried the MT, I am looking at it different. The only thing missing is the ability to lock the blade. That was to change the blade, but allowed to use it to butt the wood and measure a piece after it was cut. Let's say that I was making some drawers and I made a mistake, I cut less that I need. Then I locked the blade (TS55) butt the wood against the blade, set the stop in the MFT and then I have the exact size for a new set of drawers. I know I can do it without that, but it was simple. I will have to do it different thats all.

Keeping with the review: Noise.
Both are 84 decibels, that is my phone apps says. It is not a scientific machine, but if you measure both using the same tools it is fair.
The difference is the high pitch from the Festool TS55 that always bother me. The Mafell sounds more gentile, kind of the same sound the festool of2200 makes when it is stopping.

Hello gents, is this a forum where we won't get crucified by fellow members for our opinions? I'm not a Mafell owner yet but hope to be...one day...hopefully in the near future.

ya this is an open forum. I believe everyone is entitled to an opinion and while it's a site mainly to share English speaking knowledge of use with mafell tools, we don't work for mafell. In other words theres no conflict of interest if something is posted that might be a criticism of a product. If someone is just being a nasty bugger to stir the pot then I suppose we'll have to step in but honest opinions are always welcome. As are you BTW, welcome aboard

Thanks man...definitely not one looking to stir the pot, but I've started some post on another forum that didn't sit right with some people...mainly, people were getting upset that I was even mentioning Mafell or bringing up obvious issues with a newly released product. I should've expected that, but needless to say, it is clear who is producing the best track saw and jigsaw. Now, if I can only save up enough money.
