Yes - it is easy to have lateral forces and that will throw a blade out of square - keep in mind that this is .05 - .07 thick pieces of metal going up and down very quickly - even a stiff blade can easily be skewed with side pressure.

Just for the record I have used those large 10" Bosch blades in the P1cc but didn't like it. A bit too much for a jigsaw. It cut alright and was almost perfectly square but the saw wanted to jump and it just felt like it was working the saw too hard. The other cuts that I posted in the other thread though were very easy, almost effortless.

Is your local Mafell dealer taking care of the issue ? That stinks - been there with you. I wonder if it was a bad batch of machines or just some fluke. I have not had issues with my new saw, but I have not been running it too much of late.

It would be interesting to know if there is a common part failing. That way those of us who are mechanical and out of warranty would know what to order or even prepurchase to get the saw back into service. If you're depending on this saw in a consistent basis waiting for saw to travel to Timberwolf to Germany, repaired, then a return trip would be a hardship.

The fact that the motor runs implies a mechanical part somewhere. I have an interest as I have the saw too.

Our P1cc is holding up fine, but, if there's a "weak link" somewhere, please elaborate via this thread. I, too, am very interested in knowing what part(s) we may need to bench stock.

Yes, Mr. Tool Junkie, any specific information and/or data relating to these P1cc failures would be a great addition to the MUF knowledge base.

I was looking online to see if I could find any other failures noted in European forums but did not in this initial scan. I have to go dump a trailer load of concrete for recycling so out of time for this morning. However in searching I came up with two things that I haven't seen but maybe have been posted in the forum before. First are several cut-away drawings and parts lists from Mafell's site with an interesting observation that there have been revisions to the P1cc, but I have no time to compare and see if there have been changes in the drive parts. Maybe tonight. service.mafell.de/index.php?IdTreeGroup=12967#V:23157,22796,23157-VARS/S:23157-VARS/ I also found a comparison of jigsaws that I haven't seen. www.gereedschappro.nl/getdocument.ashx?documentid=24eb8e20-cef1-426d-8f0c-034a447c49e9Later

I sent an email to David and he replied that he had not had time yet to look at the tool I had sent back earlier. However, he said that he has only had 2 failures and he suspects that needle bearing (Part #88 - 062054-14) that the main gear pivots around is what was at issue in my case and the other case. So, not sure how expensive or difficult it would be to fix this issue or if it is even worth stocking the part as it appears to be a very rare issue.

... he suspects that needle bearing (Part #88 - 062054-14) that the main gear pivots around is what was at issue in my case and the other case... I may get a spare just to not have a further waiting and shipping drama if I have a saw failure drama.
