I use the abranet sand paper and really like it. I already mentioned in the "other tools" section that I also like the Mirka Ceros sander a lot. I find with the Mirka HD sand paper I get small pig tails but it usually doesn't matter since I only use the HD pads in the lower grits to remove stock or finish etc then sand them out as I go through the grits.
I haven't heard anything about the mafell sanders. Visually they look a bit clunky to me.

There's a Geman woodworker called Heiko Rech who's done a youtube review. In it, he compared it to the Festool Rotex 150. A rough outline of his findings:
- Build quality is great and the sanding head is 100% flat. - Dust collection, extremely good, and on par or even better than the Rotex. There was no dust at all on the surface when swiping finger over it. When used without vaccuum dust collection decreases, but is still above average as the motor creates dust collection on its own. Apparantly you could sand and finish without a vaccuum. - No dust collection in the delta head. Dust collection also decreases when used with regular paper instead of Abranet. - Abranet lasts a LOT longer than the conventional sandpapers. - Abranet grit # tend to be a bit more agressive than regular sandpaper grit #. - Vibration is almost non-existant. Very comfortable to sand all day long without tingling sensation. - Very fast material removal. Equally fast as the Rotex 150 on eccentric mode. In Rotex mode the edge definitely goes to the Festool. He was very impressed/surprised by this. - Smaller eccentric movent of the sanding head results in a noticeable smoother surface with no visible swirl marks, whereas the Rotex would leave visible swirl marks. - The machine comes to a stop very fast, so you can turn the machine off and immediately set it down. With orbital sanders you have to wait a second or two for them to come to a stop before setting them down.
All in all a very positive review and it confirms what my dealer says about the tool: "Best sander for large flat surfaces in the market right now with excellent dust collection, together with the Mirka." Thanks! Can we have a separate thread for sanders?

I don't know if it was mentioned, but it looks like there's an additional 5% off those Bosch rails with a voucher. Goog13

The Bosch rails, connector, and bag arrived today. I ordered late on thursday Aug 22nd and they arrived early today, monday aug 26. I couldn't believe how fast it arrived. Since it showed up so early in the day today friday was the only work day for shipping. There was no customs charge. My wife signed for it and it was delivered exactly like any other package. The box it was packaged in was quite beat up but the contents are in perfect condition.

I just got the rails today. The shipment is fast 3 days from UK to my door. There was some problems at the origin. I don't know the reason but they shipped on Monday, by Tuesday the rails went back to the dealer. They re-shipped on Wednesday and got it today at 4:30 PM in Houston, TX. They are not 100% perfect, a little dent on one (non cutting side) and scratch on the same position on the other one. I don't think this will affect the cut whatsoever, but I don't have the MT55cc yet. It was shipped today, so I will test next week. I can live with the dent, it is a lot smaller than the dent in my wallet that I would have from buying the Mafell rails. I could post some pictures, but I don't know how to do it.As you can see on the left picture that is the dent, it looks bigger for what it is., the second picture against the connector show that it won't affect the saw gliding on top of the rail. The dealer has the warranty on their website and they will cover any damage, so I would buy again or recommend to others.

shouldn't affect the cut in the slightest and IMO not worth sending back to blighty over. The whole guidance is done off the extruded fin, for lack of a better word. the only possible thing is a very slight snag on the saw which could be corrected with some sand paper or a light filing if need be. Good deal on the tracks for certain! I've no need for another set of 1600's or id go for it myself
