"The last message from Lincoln was "those clamps are great" and he is keeping them, so it seems that they may be worthwhile to have?" Just to clarify - I offered to give holmz his money back, and I'll keep the clamps, because he had a pair coming with the router set. Yeah you did Lincoln, and t was a champions offer. Also my rails are still on the Honda 50, somewhere behind Parkes, so I told you to keep them for the moment. Maybe this is wood-Karma. But exposing the truth looses all dramatic effect. I'll chuck you an email on the morrow... Or wednesday... As I am watching Julia Zamira at the moment. Wasn't trying to 'pump up my own tyres', just didn't want people to think I kept a pair of clamps that I ordered for you. And yes, I was watching Julia as well!

Yeah tonights Rockwiz was pretty good. I do not know which is funnier...Me having you get them and then me ordering a kit with them in it, or your seeing them in hand and thinking, "I like em". Again many thanks - I knew if I didn't use them someone would. I just totally did not expect it to be you. so it all worked out in he end. Your other reward is that the shirts ship out next week.

OK - I busted out the MT55 today and got stuck into a pice of ~18-mm black coated concrete form board.
The Rails are still en route from QLD, but the OFA 800 Kit 32 *holey rail" for the router with the clamps I picked up on Friday from AusPost... So that is what I used. Those quick clamps are pretty good. I can see why people like them.
First trimmed the rail's splinter strip. then got stuck into some pieces of form board to use for moulds for some silicon modeling/moldmaking rubber. After a few cuts I was able to score the wood, and use the bird finger (middle finger) knuckle to knock the lever over from score to full depth without pausing the motor. (start, plunge, Cut, unplunge, reverse, knock lever, full depth, cut, stop, unplunge.) Which begs the question does one stop and then unplunge, or just unplunge with the motor going, and then stop?
The only issue was marking the board (which was black), and adding 2-mm for kerf. Sometimes the cut was a bit off, so maybe I need to use a scribe line. I just lightly hit the saw to it and then bumped the rail around. I probably need some instruction... It is not a table saw.

Silly question why do you need to worry about the kerf. Personally I only measure from right to left if the size I need is less than the rail width and isnt enough support for the rail. Everything else I measure from left to right. Evan if the cut is 150mm I still measures from the left and as long as the waste side is fully supported on the right no issues. Saves having to worry about kerf widths as the blade is on the right hand did of the line which is the waste.

Good question WW. I was cutting pieces to leave a 36-mm square in the middle. So a strip 36 and a strip 72. So (like a steak) I cut the small slice off the larger sheet.
Then these were cut in the 40-mm wide pieces and I screwed them together with two 36 between the 72s.
There are a mm bigger than a Neutrik and will go over orange pipes 15-mm into the concrete. Then when the concrete cures I can pull out the silicon and the Neutrik will be below foot level with a water proof plug on the end
The clamps go close enough to the end that I could have done it the right was around, but I was working with the form board hanging out the back of the ute. So there was nothing to support it on the right.
In spite of all that, it was enjoyable. And when the rail gets here for the MFT it should be more straight forward.

In that situation I would properly use the parralel fence

In that situation I would properly use the parralel fence OK WW... That seems pretty obvious now that you mention it. (Thanks) I suppose I need to look at the manual, or to dive all the way the bottom of the box. In spite of that it was still pleasant to do.

In that situation I would properly use the parralel fence (Note to self... Order the parallel quide) - Not that I actually looked for it, but maybe I would have said 'ah !' And as a general question... Do people use the plunge indicator much? I know what both are for. I never envisioned doing a parallel guide cut, but it was my first thing. I also never envisioned needing the plunge 'guide'... Maybe I should get both... [hand gently strokes beard]

I use the indicator, its' a great accessory. I do a fair few plunge cuts though. You can certainly get by without it, if you don't make many plunge cuts.

It's very well made, isn't it GhostFist? I was surprised how heavy duty it is, when I opened the packet.

Can someone take a picture of the bottom of the saw base and the grooves? Curious if there are wear bars in the groove. One thing I like about the TS55 that I saw was the replaceable wear strips. The TS75 does not have them and I am slowly wearing away the tabs on mine. The only fix will be a new base. Now, this saw has seen 5 years of use. Curious if the MT55 is more durable. I want a smaller saw. Thanks!

I've seen you use this phrase a couple times in the forum as I searched for details about the OFA package.. What is "the protractor deal"? I'm looking at the picture on the Dictum page and can't make out what that might be.

So.. At least at some point, you thought that came with the OFA package? Or DOES it come with the OFA package?
For that matter, is the Bosch "mitre segment" the same thing (minus the badging) as the Mafell "WA angle guide"?
