Not sure as I haven't yet seen the festool version. Time will tell. No doubt there will be features on the festool that might be nice to have. For people that are heavily invested in the festool eco system with the rails and track saws it properly is wise choice. I don't think I would have it as my only circular saw. When you get it be sure to tell us what you like about it and also what feature you feel are maybe pointless on it

the price is very good as its a battery version plus the 50 degree bevel is what ive been looking for. but knowing how festool quality has been going down especialy over the last couple of years i dont think id chance it. for me the only kss saw that bevels to my needs is the 80, but its not cordless.

Because I wasn't 100% happy with it. In my opinion the bevelmechanic is to weak and the rail pullback doesn't work save. The plungeaction seems netter on the Festool and I was always happy with my Festool tools.

Yes...this will be interesting to see how the two compare. I wonder if that saw will ever make it to NA or not. But, it is good when there is competition - helps keep every company honest.

Here is a comprehensive video of this saw - you can see it cross-cutting and ripping. It is not in English, but you can get the gist.

From what I understand from the FOG site, this saw is not available in North America? If it's battery powered I don't understand why not but, they are releasing the TSC 18v saw next week.

I think this saw is being released in Europe on June 1 so if it made it to NA it would likely be next year at the earliest.

Too bad cordless units don't have a 110v corded adapter. I just hate that a battery tool becomes obsolete.

Cells are replaceable, I have my Metabo 1300mAh battery apart and I'm waiting on some 3000mAh replacements. Should be a nice upgrade along with a refresh.
You can still buy Nicads and NiMH too, but lithium has much better energy density.
