Hey guys, some of you will already know me for the rest I´m Tobias everybody is talking about . In the past, I got some request to write in this thread and now I´m finally here to help you wherever I can. At the moment I think the easiest way of a quick order (if you don´t want to mail us) is Ebay ( stores.ebay.de/Elektrowerkzeug-Shop ) cause the whole order process is in English. We are currently working on an English translation of our homepage, which is already done for the order process but unfortunately not for the articles. This really takes a lot of time and I don´t know when we are finished with it. (If links like this are not allowed cause of advertising rules please delete it and I´m really sorry for posting it!) Best regards, Tobias Guttentag Tobias, Ich spreche ein bisschen Deutsch, but not enough to continue in German. So, I have a question about your ebay store, in which countries do you ship your products? Danke schoen PS: we do not have accent on a US keyboard so no French, German or any other western languages correct.

I just noticed that Mafell prices in Germany went up by ~25% (even more for Erika 85).

Scheisse!
Interesting that Timberwolf is sticking with 2016 pricing, through the end of this year at least.

So.. Is it still a good time to import? I was considering the KSS60 (corded) and by the time I futz with the electrics/transformer/whatnot, maybe TW isn't so bad after all?

You need to determine that.
If you have 220v or a transformer it makes sense when you get more than one tool in 230v.
For just one then 110v may be wiser??

KSS 60cc 120V from Timberwolf is $1136 + domestic shipping in USA ($$??)(or free shipping if it was available at Tool Nut?)
KSS 60cc 240V from Tobias is 698 Euros (no VAT) = ~$740 right now + shipping from Europe (probably ~$100), so you'd have between $200 - $300 left over for buying a transformer (the one Timberwolf sells is $145).
I'd probably pay the extra money and have a tool that can travel to the jobsite without an extra box, plus probably better resale value in the states. But if it's never going to leave a shop that has 240V, you can save ~25% by importing.

Hey guys, really sorry for the price changes - unfortunately not from us . Mafell Germany changed their sales system and now they pretty much tell the dealers how they should sell the machines. I didn´t look this up, I hope we are still competitive with the new prices.

The KSS40 takes a Metabo, so same thing. I am not sure, but I thought the chargers are both 120v and 240v, so can you not change the plug and flip a switch like other electronics? Maybe not. Still cheaper and less fuss to just get a new charger in my opinion.

I didn´t look this up, I hope we are still competitive with the new prices. how can this price fixing my mafell be allowed Tobias? it is only about two years ago that the courts deemed this type of thing illegal and fined/penalised festool for doing similar, surely mafell must also realise that their prices are already at the high end of the price range for premium tools and further price rises will only push customers towards other brands, for example I was considering the k85 but I can buy a Makita with similar depth of cut capacities for 1/4(25%) of the cost of a k85.

Toolnut responded they are not looking to expand their Mafell offerings beyond what they carry now, i.e. no KSS40 or 60 (of any kind) is pending. So that means it's TW or bust for corded 120v; still on the fence about cordless KSS60 from Germany..
