as has been mentioned on other posts recently,i think now is a good time to import direct from Germany,I bought my Erika about two years ago direct from a dealer there, saving a few hundered pounds(£),now the exchange rates make it even more attractive,i became aware of the exchange rate advantage about six weeks ago when I bought some hand tools from fine-tools.com,i was pleasantly surprised when I got the bill, last week I bought a kss 300 and saved £115.00(over the best U.K. price) after all shipping and currency conversion fees,i find the German dealers very efficient and well organised,i will certainly do it again.

Yes, has worked for me. An MT55 + accessories is on its way to me now, from Germany. It was a fair bit cheaper than US dealers, which kept it under the dreaded $1000 mark - once you hit that, Australian Customs start charging you.

Where'd you find a 110v saw to import?
I have a Metabo cordless SDS+ from Toolstop.co.uk on the way, but cordless is easy, no dealing with 220v.

The Euro to Dallar is about equal at this point. Not sure how the shipping and taxes work out for the USA.

It's not really of much benefit up here in sunny canada. Shipping rates even the costs.

it is cheaper to import. Of course, there are some risks with shipping that far and not knowing who you are dealing with. I've had some good experiences, as mentioned, though. I just got a quote on a kss80 with UPS shipping to the U.S. for $1000. Last time theyI shipped with that service I had it the next day..! And no taxes

Of course, that is the 220v version.

Just started thinking about the exchange rate. The Euro is really down against the dollar. 89 cents to a $1. Maybe I should be thinking about the Erika. Any dealers in the Euro zone that ship to the USA?

I would absolutely recommend buying from Tobias. Sounds like I am a salesman for him at this point, but I can't praise that company (Elektrowerkzeug shop net ) enough. Very good service and the price is much better. I think I even sold that to you, Lincoln? I'll stop now.. I am working on another order from them these days. Hopefully, I'll get it in soon.

Yes, it was your recommendation kalas. Without it I don't think I would have tried a European supplier.

I am giving Tobias a try. Waiting for him to get back me on the bag and rail set. I'd order a DD40 but I don't know if they offer the 120volt version.
