Not sure if theres a dealer in your area but there's the new Sawstop portable saw. Has a blade brake and is good looking machine. If you have a dealer it won't be any cheaper then what you're considering but you will have a better machine.

Jalvis Thanks for the link haven't seen that make before that is some technology just watched another video of him putting his finger in to the blade not a mark cleaver. The cost of this saw is high it would be about €2100 but I will have to see if there is a dealer here still not sure it could be soled here with the dado capacity will check it out

Don't trip it with a dado set, as you'll be out shopping for another. It's not just fingers and hot dogs that trip sawstop saws.

For some reason I can't seem to open a new topic so I have posted this here.
Thanks to all Had a chance today to use some tools today I got a while back I got them thanks to you guys on here I was just making some open shelve units So cut them with kss 400 on tracks using the bench and rail dogs first time using the rail dogs properly thanks Jonathan for the link worked great used the slot cutter for grove'ing for the back thanks Aaron Used the dd40 for the dowels and the shelf studs The dd40 is amazingly easy to use and I can't believe how quick doing the shelve holes was units where 1100 high so the temples had to be moved on each gable but it was no problem just held the dd40 in place move the template up a bit and Kept going I was thinking of getting the longer templet but moving it was so easy I don't think I will bother I still haven't decided on what to do regarding a new portable table saw I have used dado blades for over 30 years and still find it easy and quicker than a router habit probably Anyway thanks everyone so much good info and helpful people on here

Just as a different angle ? Would the MF26CC be a possibility for you. I used it a few weeks ago for some 18mm rebates into some 18mm Kronospan MFC for a custom unit for a client. Absolutely wonderful tool

How long have you had this tool? It looks awesome! Pricey, but worth it for the functionality. I wished it had a bevel feature.

Runs straight off the track and leaves an excellent finished edge. Mafell 206074 Expanding Groove Cutter MF-VN 25 I have had it for a few months. I used it again today for cutting 18.1mm rebate in the bottom of drawer sides to accept a base.

Mick, have you used the router with a rail for dados? I've never been happy with a router on the table but with a rail it's my new go to. I like that I feel I have more control moving the router instead of the board and I can see what's going on. I'm using the bosch FSN OFA router guide on the mafell/bosch rails. It isn't perfect (the guide needs some tweaking to get the play out of it) but it does a pretty good job.
