Couldn't show that feature any better than that. Makes a lot more sense than trying to describe that function. Good work.

Thanks guys! All in all, I'm happy with how it turned out. I think I managed to get in close enough to give a clear close-up of all the surfaces and their cut quality. Should be helpful for anyone who's looking for more information on the MT55cc.

Great job on the video, Jonathan! It really shows the cut quality nicely and how great the DC is on this saw! Very impressive. Good job!!

You werent kidding MrToolJunkie, filming these things eats up a ton of time. Especially stopping mid-action to re-position the tripod to get every little operation into frame. Not to mention stitching all the clips together on a tablet Now that Ive got a tripod though, I ill try to a few more of these kind of vids.

Has anyone tried scoring in the opposite direction? Seems to me we have been doing this wrong. Start away from you drop down and pull it back. The click the butterfly stop plunge and push it away. It may get away from you but if it doesn't then the off cut would also be good.

This sounds similar to what's done with a sliding miter saw to reduce splintering. A shallow climb cut across the top followed by a plunge and conventional cut through the remainder of the material.

Running the MT55cc pre-scoring pass in a climb worked out great on some 17.5mm pine plywood with the MT55cc and the Tenryu 52T. I found that the offcut side didn't splinter at all. The MT55cc doesn't push back at that depth.
