Are these totally different saws - blade size and depth or cut - or just cordless versions of existing saws?

I guess I replied too soon. Looks like kss60 is completely new saw. It's not the cordless version of the Kss400 but an intermediate size between 400 and 80. Ugh - more products to choose from.

The KSS60 is a "Near Perfect" saw for my intended use so it is on order as of today.
I have the KSS300 and love it but there are limits to what it can do. The Flexirail is superhandy with basic sheetgoods (OSB, MDF and the likes) though so I am definitely keeping the KSS300. The KSS60 will expand the working range for me and the 770 rail is on order with it. The extra depth of cut is welcome for cutting down doors to length and the extra power will be welcome when cutting kitchen tops. I am really looking forward to the saw.

wrightwoodwork/skinee:
I will get right on it when the saw arrives. It is ordered from a dealer that orders directly from Mafell in Germany so it should be here in a week or so. Apparently it is "in stock" without the L-Boxx. I ordered two extra blades, one 56 tooth and one more 32/36 (can't remember which it is) standard blade so I have a fresh one when one is out for resharpening.
I haven't got that much work ahead that would require the saw but I am cleaning out the workshop and will make an effort to take some photos and cut up various stuff. Will post back here when I do.

Ok Folks! Got the Mafell KSS60cc with the 400 and 770 rails today. It is a solid piece of kit! I was going to snap some pictures right next to the HKC55 - but today there was a lady displaying industrial cleaning products and she used the Festool HKC55 display table!!! I got started with the KSS60 right away but pictures will have to wait until tomorrow as I was tearing down an old work top at the Workshop. I will start a job tomorrow that would normally require a chop saw but I am challenging myself to do it ALL with the KSS60 and I am confident it will work just fine. Will try to get some pictures during the mayhem. Maybe it is time to start of with a new thread labeled KSS60/KSS60cc?

Of the Cleaning Products Lady? Nah, she wasn't that hot. Bleached hair - mid forties. Maybe she bleached the hair with the product she was selling? The HKC55 was off display so I didn't take any pictures at the Local Pusher. They seemed to be very impressed with the feel of the Mafell. They stock almost everything Festool has but they do admire Mafell saws and have a smaller stock of Mafell machines. Once I got to the workshop the saw was up and running in ten seconds flat. After fiddling with the extra levers (compared to the KSS300) it felt right at home in the hand. First impression was that it is quite a bit heavier than the KSS300 (well - of course) and it felt unbalanced when I was wielding it like a medieval knight even with the short rail. However, once rested on a piece of wood to be cut the balance is good and the cutting power is very good (as expected for a corded saw) and cutting to full depth in pine was a buttery slicey feeling. I did some "potentially awkward" cuts and it performed like a champ. Ended up using both rails and I was very impressed with the 770 rail. Made Speedy Gonzales look like regular Gonzales.

I put the KSS60, parallell fence and extra blade in a Festool SYS4. I will PlugIt tomorrow and start looking for something to fit the rails in. Will have to start scouting bags for the two clip on rails and for one/two FSN rails. All in all it feels like a solid buy.

The second link is for the standard mafell rail bag- It can be purchased from Timberwolf & is the bag that I have. The first link is one that comes up through amazon- only one review, but a good review. I think it would be cool to see a thread on the KSS60. I also wish you would post a picture of that really hot lady with the cleaning solution bleached blonde hair, maybe even a thread dedicated to her. www.amazon.com/Bigger-Savings-Canvas-Carry-Mafell/dp/B00O8UBNOUwww.its.co.uk/pd/204626-Mafell-1.6m-Guide-Rail-Bag-_MAF204626.htm
