Ok I'm finally gonna try and explain how to post your own photos and vids on this forum. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to post via the mobile version of this site, but on the desktop version it's quite simple.
It's easiest to post photos and videos via an external site such as youtube, or skydrive, or something similar. First make sure you're in the full thread editing menu, by selecting the reply button to an existing thread or as it appears when creating a new thread. You'll know you're there when you see an array of icons at the top of your dialogue box, listing "add poll", "add event", "add attachment", a selection of font editing buttons and so on.
You can add any attachment from the hard drive of your computer by clicking the add attachment button and following the prompts from there. Even easier is copying the url of say a photo off an existing webpage, clicking on the button that looks like a wee polaroid, and pasting in the dialogue box listed as image url, then just click insert image. bang thats it! click create post and your lovely image is there for the world to gawk at.
For videos such as youtube or the like it's just as easy. copy the image url, click the button for insert video (hovering over any button gives you a brief description of what it does) paste in the dialogue box, and bob's your uncle!
Please post any further questions here if you've got any and I'll do my best to coach you through.
Happy posting! Matt

Can someone explain the "shoutbox" at the bottom of the screen? obviously they are conversations but separate from the main body of the forum. This is the only forum I am on so still kinda learning.

Silly feature to this forum's host site. The shout box can be a live chat of sorts, or you can just say what ever in it.

I am going to figure out how to post videos. I made a few 30-45 second videos of the KSS300 and MT55 cutting walnut over a year or two ago. I went back and found them on the computer & think it is information that would be good to have on hand for relative power comparisons...and generally interesting for wierd tool nerds to watch

It should be fairly straight forward on the desktop version. Easiest way is to upload them to YouTube then paste the link

Do you think there'll be some possibility to post pics via mobile phone in the future or is it simply not possible?

With the iPad you can. I select Reply which brings up the options bar at the top along with the attachment button, then I go from there. Sometimes when using attachments I have to try multiple times or hit the button multiple times to get it to respond. Once the images are "pre loaded" I hit Insert to do the final loading of each the images into the post.

I wasn't sure if the iPhone software would be different since they are both IOS, but in a few days I should finally be iPhone equipped. I stayed with my G'zOne clamshell since its MIL spec and nuclear blast resistant. Well at least it survives drops from ladders, in water puddles, run over by my tractor, and common other accidents. From experience I've seen Verizon staff get ill when I had brought phones back in a plastic bag. Ie, "Please put that away!" a young girl once said. New after two used to never be a problem.

Aye, it's the same, idunnokno, kernel but from my i-phone i can only access MUFs mobile site. But don't be afraid of your i-phone packing up on you, i've had mine for 4 years and it's still going strong..had it in a LifeProof shell some year and a half, and it did a good job untill it 'auto-destructed' i.e. the seals were squishy and the front-cover delaminated. But that's to be expected, i guess, with most mobiles havin' a shorter live-span. I'll hawkishly be watchin' for offers on an i-pad. And it ought to fit my eyes better than the i-phone.

Yes Charley. I have one and it seems like a great time waster. One sees all the youngsters head down laughing, but never looking one another in the eye. It seems the worst thing for being social, but it is called social media.
It is good for connecting people that cannot be easily connected, but it reminds me of the video camera phase where if it was not taped, then it had no meaning... This was for births, deaths, baptisms, soccer games.
But I have one of those devil's devices.
