This is a real world application for the Mafell DD40. The little alcove in this restaurant was intended for two adjustible shelves. Once I installed the Paneling I came back with DD40 and smal template guide and drilled the shelf pin holes. Simply registered the template on the bottom of the case and used large pan head screws to hold it in place.
For the record the shelves sit perfect without even the slightest wobble.

Same unit as the DD40 (not the P)
All the parts are the same and accessories are compatible as well.

It was used but hardly. This was years ago and was my first Mafell product. I really got lucky because the Doweler doesn't come up for sale in the USA. The only used options are typically timber frame tools.
