Brad - this came out nice! Not sure if I ever saw the final pics...now you needs some white Mafell boxes to complement the L-Boxxes.

Scot, what are these white Mafell L-boxxes you speak of?? What comes in them? Well...some of Mafell's tools come in them -- like the K85 (L-Boxx 4). But, most come in white Systainer type boxes.

ah man, I hoped the MT55 would come in one. I'll have to talk to timberwolf and see if they can get one for it. And the KSS400. I've decided that the MT55 is going to get shop duty and the KSS400 is going to help my on the house build in the spring. Should be a good combo for me.

I was just going to stick any that do not come in a Systainer in a Bosch L-Boxx. Maybe see what the insert would cost, if one is available.

Do you prefer the lboxes over systainer? Or is it more that you already have more of the lboxes and want to keep it all the same. Price wise there doesn't seem to be much of a difference.

I do prefer the L-boxxes.
I had a few systainers and like all things there are benefits of both. I like the latches on the new systainers better. It's a slick design. The fact that you could open a box mid stack would have some benefit as well. But in the end I sold my systainers and put my festool in L-boxxes.
I had more of the L-boxxes and I truthfully I wanted only one system. Off of amazon the l-boxxes are cheaper for me. The L-boxxes are bigger. They are also stronger IMO, the side walls are def thicker. I did some destructive testing of the L-boxxes. They are TOUGH. I kicked them down stairs, dropped hammers on them, put them in the shower, dropped them off my bench ect. I even stood my 300lbs+ on top of them. I'll start a new thread if you want to see the pictures and video.

That is a cool table. Curious- what is the dimension of the top? And are you happy with the size after working with it?

It's 34"x64" For 95% of what I do it is the perfect size. I was fortunate to have a welding table I made with the same dimensions so I had a pretty good basis for what I wanted. If you didn't have the router lift, you could get away with smaller I think. I seem to pile stuff up in that area and still have lots of room.
The things I like most are the dog holes on top, the fact that I made a torsion box under those holes so it's dead nutz flat, and the ladder system (not sure what to call it) on the front for clamping vertical on the front. The clamp storage on the side is also VERY nice for smaller projects. I have two other clamp racks but it's nice to have some of them right at the bench.
What I don't like is the lack of a drawer for the parf dogs, and clamps and tape etc. Those small often used things. I'll remedy that with a drawer in the middle. I go back and forth on making the MFT style top proud by a 1/4" so I can cut on it. I made it replaceable but I like using the clamps on the edge and those work better with it flush. The rockler castors work OK but it's a heavy table and they probably need another set to help out with the lift. And they kind of stick out and are in the way. It also needs some vac hose/wire management. Not really a table issue but it is something I need to improve upon.

The torsion box looks like a lot of work. Well worth it since you now just get to use it forever and the work is behind you. Thanks for tall the additional information. You have a lot of good storage and work space in a small footprint. I am always chasing clamps when I work in my shop instead of on site I like your solution for that.
