Tom- Are you using the W1 Cunex blade on the few cope cuts you have made so far? Have you tried any other blades?

I just ordered the Collins coping foot modified for the Mafell p1cc which is priced at US$77 plus shipping. It is not listed on their web site. Order or inquire about this by calling +1 614 873 6219 or sending a fax to +1 614 873 1676. Please don't complain to them about having to use this method of contact. The time zone is UTC-05:00 . www.collinstool.com/base.php?page=collins_coping_foot.htm

I'm glad you were able to order one, I'll stay in touch with Collins and post a link if he supplies me with one. Otherwise, a phone call might be your best bet.

So I finally got around to ordering the Collins coping foot today. I called them on the phone and they said someone else from the forum also bought one today. FYI she said they were down to just a couple remaining.
Tom- Have you narrowed down the best jigsaw blade for using with the coping foot?

For whatever reason, I have a PILE of the "standard" Gold-colored Festool blades, and they generally seem to work fine with the Coping Foot. Festool makes a Black coated blade that is a little more slender but still has aggressive teeth, for smaller stock that blade cut nicely as well. I'll update this post with part #'s ASAP. I believe that Collins officially recommends the Bosch T244D. I'm glad to hear that Collins has managed to sell their initial batch of Coping Feet!

Thanks Tom- I'll look into that Bosch T244D blade. I won't be surprised at all if I already have one. No need to update with part #s. I'll try the Bosch blade and mess around with several others. If I find one in my tests that works really well for certain materials or profiles etc I'll mention it in this thread. Thanks for the response.

When I called to order my foot Dave Collins picked up the phone. He really liked the concept of the Mafell blade (not tried), but he still recommended the Bosch blades. I ended up getting a pack just because he went out of his way not to sell me on the Bosch blades. If they don't work as well as the Mafell blade I can always use them anyway for other work.

Thanks for the input. My coping foot showed up in the mail today and they sent a two pack of Festool blades with it, S 75/4 FSG and S 75/4 K. The FSG one is gold and the K one is black. I'm not sure if it is normal for them to send the two blades or not...wondering if they usually send them with the carvex or trion foot. A little bit odd for them to send these two blades if they are "recommending" the Bosch blades.
