Personally I can't really say say but my thinking is that for timbers below 3" it would be ok but for timbers above the portable bandsaw would be the better choice. I have used the jigsaw as a one off to rip down 3" timbers and it does the job fine but not as good as a circular saw

Ok found it , 3,000 compared to Festool's Carvex 3,800 both at no load speed but Mafell's 900 w to Festool 550w The P1cc is stronger, also found this jigsaw reviews between Bosch ,Makita, Mafell, Festool and Protool:http://www.gereedschappro.nl/document/24eb8e20-cef1-426d-8f0c-034a447c49e9/

This is a Funclip I found on Mafell's webTV section of the website. Pretty funny.

Yeah. I remember I saw that back in 2010 when I purchased my p1cc. Cool videos.

Here's one I haven't seen before. Now that's a blade.

I think it is not one of Bosch's 10 inch blades. I have some and they cut OK. I think 7 tried some and did not like the results of the cut.

I'm not going to say its the best jigsaw but it is certainly the best jigsaw I have ever used the w1 blade does give u 100% accuracy but even with just a normal blade I recon that I properly get 98% accuracy. The w1 blade is the only special blade by mafell all the the rest of the blades are just normal jigsaw blades same as you get from other manufacture some of the the corbels where done using standard jigsaw blades w2 which is the same as blades from bosch of festool. I have also used the jigsaw to rip 70mm stud as 1 off with cheap shops own blade as there where nails in the wood and it did the job fine apart from a couple of slight run offs where it had gone through some nails Has anyone tried the Cunex blade on a different brand jigsaw - say the Bosch for example?

The CUnex blade has a tang that extends up to the top of the blade. You'd need to grind it off to fit in other jigsaws, thus losing many of the benefits of the blade. I'll try to take some pics to show this. Face it dude, you need a P1cc ;-)

Yeah...the P1CC is in a league of its own. Personally I find that it cuts so well with Bosch blades that I have not even tried the CUnex blade yet. I own both Festool versions and the Bosch JS572 series and the Mafell is the most accurate of them all. Will likely sell the Trion and keep the other three -- the Carvex only because of the circle cutting base.

Combination of the track and plumb straight cuts is pretty compelling though.

Yeah...the P1CC is worth every penny in my opinion and is like using a handheld Bandsaw. Not sure if you looked at the video I shot of it with the guide rail, but I ripped a set of 3 strips off of a piece of cherry using the guide rail and all three were clean and accurate to within a .001 - .002 of each other.

Not sure if anyone posted this video before, but shows some capabilities of the P1CC:
