I like the video. On that chair repair project it looks like you are leaving the dowels exposed & sanding them flat right? Are you refinishing the chairs also? If so what are you going to finish them with?
The Dowels will be flush cut with a saw and finished with a Chisel. I will not be refinishing the chairs due to cost and the fear that the chairs will only last a few years longer. The dowels will get some oil and the chairs will go back for use.
This link shows something very similar to what you are referring to. Joinery is becoming really interesting to me and a lot of it incorporates dowels in one way or another (wedged dowel, draw bored mortise & tenon etc.) I like the look of the exposed dowels- especially when they are actual joinery instead of the Greene & Greene style where their exposed joinery is primarily for looks.
GhostFist- maybe you shouldn't post anymore- your profile picture with all the weird eyes looks good with the 666 under it. You are now an official Mafell cult member.
Just ordered the DD40P with additional 5mm and 16mm cutters and the 800mm template with the 1600mm extension. Also ordered an F310. Unfortunately the templates and F310 are out of stock and will not arrive for 2-3 weeks. In my past dealings with Mafell NA lead times from germany to louisiana were only about 1.5 weeks max. Not sure why the extended delay.
Anyhow, jalvis, schedule permitting, sure would appreciate a video showing the templates in use, shelf pins, and joinery. Nothing fancy required, scrap stock would be fine. Your last video was very helpful. Thanks in advance.
Looks like their is not much left before I'll have one of each of Mafell's offerings. They sure do engineer awesome machinery!
Jalvis, that looks really nice and clean. I like it.
The DD40 is awesome. I use it for almost all my joinery. The only flaw I think it has is something which has been reported by another member already. And I wholeheartedly agree with that. It's that there isn't a soft start and I always need to reposition it after i turn it on. There's a slight learning curve to the tool but once you get it, it should serve you well for many projects to come.

abdon: I stand corrected , the angle fence is only attaches with F -Tracks , what confused me was , that the Timberwolf site mentioned it will work with the NFU machine, yes it will work but only I guess when you use the Ftrack , with other tracks Like the KSS L.

glynnco: Did you order from GereedschapPro? I see them as in stock but I'm located in the US and am not sure if they ship here. I sent them an email asking about shipping but it was returned undeliverable...

jonathan: I've purchased a lot of stuff from our neighbours @ GereedschapPro.nl As far as I know they are one of the larger Mafell dealers in the EU. I can recommend them, they usually respond quickly.
