Here is a short video of cutting the end of the trusses in situ, in preparation for a sub facia and pvc facia and soffit. Ideal having no cables tripping you up. As the saw costs a lot I intend to get my money's worth out of it.

Now that you'vebeen using it on the job a fair bit, how often do you find you're switching batteries?

I'm finding that on normal day to day use I'm getting a full day out of the battery obviously that isn't using continously. I've just being using the 32 tooth blade. I do plan on getting the 16 tooth blade for general use, specially for cordless saws with the extra thin kerf of 1.6 which give approximately twice the cutting length of a blade with 2.5 kerf. At the moment the mafell batteries are 2.6 amp bosch do 4 amp version so possibly in the future it might come with the 4 amp batteries in the future, but can't say for sure. I can approximately rip 12m of 50mm stock when I get the special cordless blades I will do a vid comparing the 2 blades

Nice one. Ya 5 he amps seem to be going up on batteries. 4 amp would keep it competitive

Can I ask a stupid question?
If you are using the saw with dust collection what's the advantage of having it cordless? You need to plug it into the vacuum anyway that extra wire makes not much difference.
I can see the value in a cordless drill but not so much in a saw unless you use it without dustcollection.

Ok I just saw the video on the roof. So it's basically for outdoor use. I guess.

On uk sites 99% of time there is no power the only way is cordless, generator, or an old fashioned hand saw. If you have power then corded saws is better. The only advantage of using the cordless with a vac compared to corded is there is no cable to tangle with the hose. Hilti do a hybrid cordless which runs on there 36v batteries or 240 which could be an interesting idea. Obviously the auto start won't work and you need to switch on. In the future we might have cordless vac which have blue tooth and can be paired to cordless saws or the likes. Tomorrow at work I will be putting up a sun room. The roof at the front will be like a bay window. For the angles all I have to do is read the sticker on the trusses which gives me the roof pitch. Using the kss saws be it cordless or corded make life easier. I don't have a generator and yes I think it would be handy to have at times. At home I can easily get power so there is no need. Then on site it would only be for the vac. Then with the option of the hilti vac I'm thinking there is no need for the generator. In all honesty I personally think it at of beth and safety being taken to far not allowing power or making it almost impossible to get. Do people in Europe have the same issues with power not being provided or is it more a uk site thing

Festools new cordless saw uses a bag for dust collection, might be worth it to see if it's usable on this saw. The extraction ports are of similar diameter, festools and mafell's.

Bosch has a new line of 4amp 36v batteries that look identical to the ones in your kit. Not sure about compatibility but looks the part for sure. Not cheap though as these things are. link

Forgot to post up all the bosch 36v batteries are compatible with the mafell including the 4 amp which I've had confirmed by mafell. It won't give the saw any more power only capacity. I've also discovered that cmt do extra thin kerf bladed with a kerf of 1.3mm could be tempted to give them a try
