Hi everyone! I'm starting to have a problem with the batteries for my MT55 cordless tracksaw, the Powertank 18 M 99 , they die on me too fast before I can charge the 2nd one and don't seem as strong as when I first got the saw with the 2 batteries, anyone having the same issue? I use the saw a lot also is there another alternative or cheaper replacements to this batteries? Thanks for any advice and help!

Batteries are unfortunately a consumable item. Their life depends on use, storage conditions, charging frequency etc.
Please give some more information, i.e. where you are based, how old the batteries are, etc., if they are under 3 years old, they may still be under warranty.
If you have made some good money using your saw and batteries, bite the bullet and get some new ones. The Metabo 5,5ah batteries are the same battery and will be cheaper to buy.
In the last 30 years of buying batteries for tools, I have only had a couple of Lithium-Ion batteries go bad, one of which was a Metabo 8,0ah - they are vastly superior and more reliable than the old NiCads and NiMH batteries of which I had so many go bad I cannot remember!

Hi and thanks for the fast reply, I'm in the Northeast and the saw and batteries are over 3 years old I always bring them inside my house from my van in the winter time, will the Metabo's 8.0ah work with this saw or it needs to be the 5.5ah? Thanks again!

The 8,0ah's will work but I found the 5,5ah's to be better value per ah - depends what you can get a deal on, not worth paying over the odds just to get 8,0ah's. I picked mine up in a deal with a drill including case and charger, it was cheaper than just buying two batteries - might be a good idea to keep your eyes open for package deals.
