Hi all, I have a MT 55cc european 110v 50 Hz track saw which I wired a US 3 prong 15 amp plug to. I have been successfully using it for over 4 years with no issues. I am interested in purchasing a P1cc jig saw, but can't find a european vendor who will reanonably sell/ ship to the US. I have found the 230v 50Hz version readily available but I am concerned about it's compatability with our US 220-240v 60 Hz current. From the little I know about european 230v it is a straight 230 as opposed to the US systom of pairing a 110-120 "A" phase with a 180 degree opposed "B" phase of similar voltage. I am not sure the jigsaw will run safely under these differences or not. Please advise. Thank you.

It might be worth looking in the UK for a 110v model, they have a weird law over there that for site work tools must be 110v. The part number you want is 917122 - I am pretty sure it will be possible to find a company who can ship to you.

Thank you, I have looked at a few sites that carry the 110 v european version. The cost has always been the issue, that is why my focus has been on the 220v unit. I can get the whole kit, angle base, track and all for barely $50 (US) than just the jigsaw would cost me here. It is just the questiom of our US 220-240v working on a european 230v tool. It would only be used in my shop, not out in the field.

timberwolf tools is approximately the same cost. don't forget you will have to swap the cord out if you buy the uk 110 v version. I bought one from UK about 5 years ago, but that was before Mafell dropped prices in US. Wouln't do it now. I would just buy from timberwolf tools.

I seem to remember reading that Mafell motors are 'universal' and as such work on 50 or 60 Hz... don't quote me though!
