Adding to my CAS collection - purchased mainly for heat shrink, got the MH5 variable temperature body only version for a steal, cheaper than a Metabo 2 temperature model. Works well, likes emptying batteries fast!

one of them tools, that (dust extraction aspect apart), just doesn't make sense to be cordless... You might end up using it once a year, but when using it, at least half a day or so for, that would drain xx amount of any batteries.... Just my £0.02ct on it and I have a heat gun, that is corded AND in 240V (bit problematic on British construction sites) somewhere, used twice in about 10 years...

I guess it depends what you need to do, if you have to heat shrink cables when the power is off sometimes, the battery life isn't a problem and it does make sense - just buy more batteries!
We had -15 degrees recently and all the van doors were iced closed - impossible to get in.... away from home too - fortunately my good lady had her hair dryer with her, we managed to unplug every multi-plug in the rental, make a chain to get the hair dryer to the van and warm the doors enough to melt out the ice. The MH5 can be set at 50 degrees - like a hot summer here - so it does make sense - just have to remember not to leave it in the van!

I'd love to be present, when heat gun is in your van, but you (irrelevant) and your missus are trying to break in to it for hours due to frozen locks 😁🤣😁🤣
