Forgive me if this should be input to an existing thread...
Im Looking at getting the 24 and 32 tooth blade from mafell, but im worried that because of the thin kerf (1.8mm) they may be subject to warping when doing 45 degree cuts. does any one have any experience in this?
If that is the case would i be better off buying a festool or frued blade which both have a wider kerf.

I've never had any problems with my Mafell blades. Although you can always get the Festool and if it doesn't perform you can return within 30 days. I also believe that Timberwolf would warranty the blades if you were dissatisfied.

I've never had a problem with mafell blades. The little squickly cut outs in the blade are to allow for expansion when the blade warms preventing it from warping

I was a little worried when I just used a freud blade because the kerf was a bit wider when comparing it to a mafell. I didn't have any issues with it hitting the splinter strip on the rail- teeth must be oriented to one side or something.
Haven't had any issues at all with Mafell blades. I have cut a lot of miters in 3/4" stock but nothing thicker- so somewhat limited experience- but all good.

I have the original blade that came with the mt55 and recently why doing mitre cuts through MDF I was getting a lot of blade warp, I think it was more down to the blade being blunt then anything else, and also probably a cut that required less teeth on the blade. Also its just occurred to me that no matter what size kerf you have on the blade it should still hit the same point on the splinter gaurd as the thickness of the plate of the blade is usually the same in reference to the teeth (I'll have to check that) if that makes any sense... Its late and I'm probably digressing... Any way i ended up ordering some more mafell blades. Thanks for your help again :-)

When you are doing a 45 degree cut make sure the material is well supported if the sheets are a little bouncy that can cause binding, also try to keep pressure on the left hand side of the base and a sharp blade
