Mines still working... maybe I've been lucky but had very few tools stop working in 30+ years

I've used the absolute crap out of my KSS40 and it's still going strong. I recently used it to cut 3cm Paperstone counters- went through 5 blades and had to upgrade to 8ah batteries, but the saw did great. I've been using it regularly since 2016 and it's given me no problems except the occasional beep-beep. If it died tomorrow I'd buy a new one before the old one got cold.

What does the Paperstone look like once fitted, does it look like a quality product?.. I have the samples, not yet tried it though.

Paperstone can look quite nice, depending on sanding/prep. I had a lot of minor swirls and fine scratches that the client decided not to chase. I suspect it will age gracefully, meaning with wear it will acquire a bit of haze or patina, and is somewhat easy to renew if you want. This was my first time working with it, and I'm not too eager to use it again. Very heavy, murder on tooling, and the dust is awful.

For surfaces that show up swirls etc after sanding, I use the Mirka 2.5mm orbit sander - obviously slower to use than a 5mm orbit and a lot of money just for sensitive surfaces
