Would playing with the suction power help?

You have an air leak. Check the seal to the lid, clean out any debris, wipe down, check for any cracks.
Check to make sure there's no dust on the mating surfaces, gaskets, etc.
If that doesn't fix it, get an incense stick that smokes well, and smoke check it. Where the smoke is entering the the cyclone, clean / seal it.

If you have an air leak on the cyclone, the vac will suck air through that and increase the amount of waste going into the vac - the cyclone can't do it's job with a leak.
Was the vac and cyclone empty before you used it?.. i.e is that the amount of dust in the vac for the debris in the cyclone box?.. or is this over several 'empties' of the cyclone box?

Both boxes were empty. I had a look and I have lots of dust on the seal. Might be the reason

You'll always get some dust getting by, especially as the Festool is flat cyclone (not a vertical cone) - might be worth checking seals on the vac (it pulls out and doesn't join up properly sometimes), check the cyclone parts are correctly seated, check the hoses are properly seated in to their fittings - and I'd put a bag in the vac too - even just a black open one.

I think you need a broom and a dust pan as part of the strategy?

I use the fleece bags as much as possible - even if only to protect the very expensive filters.
Of course this won't really work if you have a lot of dust getting past the cyclone as the bag will clog - the reason I suggested the black sacks, and you can then use it in AR mode.
Did you have the red ring in the right position for the fleece bags?

I have not been doing any major grinding but it looks like my wheel is gone in the motor. It is quite loud and I have to say my esperience with the starmix is not good. I am really considering the new Hilti Vacs
