I just received my guide pocket. I’m making the transition to Red and Gray from Green and Blue. I have to say that while the padding in both bags is about the same, I really appreciate the semi rigid lining of the Mafell bag. I did notice that there is a smaller rigid patch (appx 6”x12”) with Velcro on it and that patch attaches to the inside of the bag. I’m failing to understand what this patch is intended to do. Can someone enlighten me?

I've always wondered what that section is for too. Asked once but never got an answer, maybe someone knows. (I like the mafell carry bag but could never see the zipper pulls in low light, black on black, so I added some red nylon strap to the pulls).

Great idea.

Timberwolf Tools can order any tool or accessory that Mafell manufactures. The Mafell bag is called "Guide Pocket F160", part# 204626, price $85 Maybe they “can” but I have tried to get them to order a f310 Mafell Raul and they have refused.

Speculation on my part, but I suspect this has to do with the incidence of rails getting damaged in transit, I suppose the longer the rail, the more likely it is to get damaged between Germany and Chicago, and again from Chicago to the end destination. I suppose that once you've had to eat the cost of a few damaged tracks, you just don't offer them. Again, this is pure speculation on my part. I've been nothing but happy with dual F160 tracks + connector, but I appreciate that some users might want that length in one piece.

I have the Festool 2700mm track, it changes the workflow in the workshop. I'll add a Mafell F310 when one comes up on a promo price. It's good to have smaller rails for transporting them, but nothing beats just having the right length rail and grabbing it for a cut.

I ended up ordering the longer rail from Germany through Amazon or eBay.
