.. My sudden interest in using Mafell saws on Festool rails stems from the fact that: One, I own a lot of Festo & Festool rails. A lot. They sit forlornly, with pealing splinter guards. Two, I occasionally miss Parallel Guides. ... ^Those^ are rational reasons that also make sense.

Thanks for all the help on this topic everyone.
One more question. I have the festool midi extractor, does anyone know if the festool ts55 dust bag/extractor adaptor fits the mt55?

Thanks alvychippy & holmz. I knew it was a long shot but I was hoping that I would be able to just buy the festool bag adapter and connect it to the mt55 so the hose and bag would stay in place like on the ts55 as I have heard the mafell dust bag falls of all the time

I've got 4 Mafell dust bags - no problems with any of them.

I've got 4 Mafell dust bags - no problems with any of them. For the mt55? The clasp on the supplied bag broke the first time I used it. They're pricey here so Ive been reluctant to replace it. John

1x KSS40 - not the same but still...; 1x came with K65 18M; 1x came with MT55 18M; ; I another one of them on the Makita 2x18v plunge - but this has now been sold... kept the dust bag though.
I think the clip could break, but I'm very careful, it only needs a tiny lift to open.

Thanks. I may give a Makita bag a try.

Otherwise the Festool one might work - never tried, but might be worth trying one.

Thanks. The FT bag is designed to work with Festool's new hose ends. Would require switching the dust port. Not sure if that's even doable. At that point there's no savings, though the Festy bag does look better built.

Yes it look like a decent dust bag, shame it won't work!
