First problem with a Metabo CAS battery - a lightly used 8ah - won't charge. Tried and ASC30 and an ASC Ultra - sometimes goes to red flashing LED, other times completes the charge cycle - but the battery is still on one bar flashing.
I'll probably have to get hold of someone at Metabo Germany - Metabo France have never once replied...

The 36 month warranty applies to batteries & chargers too. Should you have purchased the original tool "offshore" then this adds "complications", without necessarily precluding your warranty rights.
Or you could just try your local Metabo repairer. S/he might just swap it for you.
I've only had one Metabo battery fail: a 5.2 AH 10.8 V Powermaxx non Li-HD version. Similar symptoms to yours. Promptly swapped through an unrelated repair agent with an amusing note on how to "properly take care of power tool batteries" included.
Ze Chermanz don't like admitting fault, it seems!

Yes of course, it's still under warranty, but it's hassle!.. purchased in Europe, but as far as warranty goes, Europe is like one big friendly country!.. no local Metabo dealers up in the mountains - I'll try Metabo France for starters.
I've not had many batteries go bad on me in the last 30+ years - a Dewalt Ni-Mh, a Makita 18v Ni-Mh and a 14,4v Li-ion - and now this one. Either I look after my batteries or I've had a lot of good luck!
