How do you like your mafell routers? I guess the closest comparisons would be festool's of1010 and their of 2200. Why did you choose mafell over festool in this case?

Sorry for the delay. Had to go to hospital. Don't worry, all fingers are still fine! I like the Mafell routers very much. According to Cpt. Jack Sparrow: Nice, simple, easy to remember.... ;-). I bought the LO65Ec for wood construction. I was looking for a robust and powerful machine. As you know, there are only a few routers in this segment, such as LO65Ec, DeWalt DW626, DeWalt DW625 and the Festool OF2200 or the older OF2000 which is originally a LO65 and made by Mafell. At the end I chose the LO65Ec. Nice thing about this machine and the LO50E is that the accessory is more or less compatible. And yes, I am living only a few miles away from the Mafell factory in Oberndorf, Germany. Very easy decision in that case.

Sure! I'll meet the gang at the "Holz-Handwerk" trade fair in Nuernberg, Germany this month. Nice cool free German beer at the Mafell booth!

I know this is a old thread but I am curious if the drawing was ever shared for the drilling template.

I know this is a old thread but I am curious if the drawing was ever shared for the drilling template. Not yet. I never had a drawing. Just started with an idea and that's it. Regards, Robert

This thread I found a bit late. But the idea is nice. I've made some marks by pushing the DD40 on the wood while sitting on the template. Took measurements (all millimeter), wrote them to it, made a picture and here you have it. I've not made one yet, but if, then I would drill a 30 mm hole for the guide bush. Note thate the tooth of the DD40 template are the reference surfaces for the DD40 base. The tooth of the DD40 base dont go to the bottom. So if you make a adapter it's tooth should be around 5 mm high to fit in the template. Regards Martin

Martin, Thank you for your work here. Your data will be helful if someone needs a drawing of the jig or if someone wants to create something else for the DD40.

Thanks!

To use it with a Mafell router you have to build an adapter or some kind of mounting plate or much easier and faster buy a Bosch router and sell ist afterwards.

As a matter of fact, I have ACE 900 ( made 1998 in USA) unfortunately it's in a different (lower) league as to say. Fair enough, when on contracting sites- almost certain nobody would steal it, but would've rather be able to use my LO50E, as power/stability is non comparable. Even "light tasks" as windowboards in hardwood require several passes (oppose to one cut with M) there are load of tasks happen when instead of using my 1/2 Metabo, I could do with my 1/4 M, as Bosh is just not man enough... Indeed got me thinking to make a insert to act as a reducer to adapt different make bushes Thanks!
