When I called them they said everything is sold separately. I didn't even ask that question and he made sure I knew that.

Ok I got the saw. It just screams quality. Can anyone tell me what the velcro is around the dust port? Does it come off?

I look forward to hearing your opinions on how the Makita, Festool & Mafell stack up, calidecks.

The Velcro is to align your cord with the dust hose, I'll post a pic when I get home from vacation. On my KSS80 I took it off and peeled the little sticky part off that held the velcro on. I saw no need for it. But, it is to align the cord to the hose as Tom mentions. Looking forward to your review after you put it to work. Did you have a TS75 too or just the 55? Would love to here comparisons between Festool and the MT55. I am considering adding one of these to my arsenal too and dumping my Festool.

I just did a side by side using the same blade. The power difference was very noticeable. The ts55 just struggled. I cut through 2 pieces of 3/4 composite. The other surprising difference was the mafell dust extraction worked better. However it might be because there is no blade changing hole in it.
This may seem like a small thing but I really liked the way the dust extraction port "clicked into several different positions. It held the hose up from dragging on the rails or the material.
As I said before, this saw just screams quality. IMO if you don't need the cut depth, it's a better alternative to the ts75 simply because of it's size. It's certainly a better saw than the ts55. The price is the only negative I can think of. I will have a better opinion after using it in the field. Attachments:

Tested the festool blade, freud, Makita, tenyru and the mafell. All 28t except the mafell which I only had the 48. But hands down the Tenyru cut much better and smoother in composites than all the others. Surprising the mafell 48 is my second choice. The good news is the Tenyru is the cheapest one of all at under 35 bucks I'm going to order a few more.
This Test was for composite decking.

I am glad your initial thoughts on the saw are positive! I wish I could find a source for the tenyru blades up here. Do you order them locally or online?

I thought Amazon sold them. I can get them locally, but have not used one yet. CD - do you get them at Austin or do you buy online?

Yep. Been adding Tenryu blades an everything. Great value. There finish blade for the Kapex is amazing and worth the price.

Jalvis - which blade do you prefer? I saw a few for the Kapex. My original one is starting to dull a little bit and I was considering another one with the Kapex promo coming up next month, but I might just opt for the Tenryu.
