Just noticed that Metabo have changed their transport case range. Apparently, the current "Metaloc" range has been discontinued, & the "Metabox" name resurrected. The more things change, the more they seem to stay the same. Don't know anything about backwards compatibility, although the old lugs from the original Metabox range means that "Classic" Systainers & Metaboxes will fit underneath, but as with the newer systainers & Metalocs, the old ones won't fit on top. Gone are the sturdy steel securing latches, to be replaced by some type of Festool-esque rotating lock, which I find somewhat disturbingly insubstantial & possibly insecure.... I still like the "Classic" Systainers & original Metaboxes best, as they offer the most secure (4-point) linkages. There's 4 new heights in standard width Metaboxes, & an additional (& presumably useful) 2 new heights in "wide body) Metalocs too for those tiresomely big & long Recipro Saws, 9" grinders, Jackhammers & other peskily oversized tools that you all so desperately feel the need to store within a new, fancy-pants, expensive new plastic case. Just the ticket for all those OCD sufferers out there..... www.metabo.com/com/en/accessories/other-accessories/case-systems/metabox/metabox-118-empty-626882000.html?listtype=search&searchparam=metabox

After copying Makita system
Appears to be a copy of DeWalt ToughBox (Foxcon really)... I like those, (cost apart), what seemed intended replacement to T-Stack that didn't materialise... Wander why?

I don't like them, just as I don't like the new Festool systainers.

I don't like them, just as I don't like the new Festool systainers. What are you using, T-Locs? I have over 30 AUER toolboxes, plus another 20+ with the drawers and screw cases with the individual divider boxes, different trolleys and carts, all in dark grey and labelled up with a dymo!.. looks very smart and pro!.. - they have their faults, but to buy all of this in T-Locs would cost 5000€ upwards - I'm not even at 2000€. I really should sell off my perfect condition Mafell and Festool T-Locs!

Yes, I'd say 80-90% of my gear is in T-Loc's for me. And my Mafell gear is still from the days of the old systainer type. I really dislike that they changed the dimensions with the new systainers.

I agree 100%.. stupid decision. I racked my van out for Sys4's (3x Sys 1's; 2x Sys 2's; a Sys 3 and Sys 1; etc.) - I'm sure I'm not the only one. It is a format that worked. Shame on you Festool/Tanos.
