I see that, with the exception of the clip-on dust chute, the blade housing on the KSS-400 appears to be flat. That being said, with the dust chute removed, is the KSS-400 suitable for making shadow cuts?
If the KSS-400 is suitable for making these cuts, what is the closest cut that can be achieved? For reference, the KSS-300 is spec'd at making a 13mm (1/2+") gap cut.

No shadow gaps can not be made with kss 400 the tap for lifting the guard out the way is on the outside of the saw housing. Where the kss300 has a lever on the inside to lift the guard out if the way
