That stop motion looks like a lot of work to accomplish. Its like having two projects.

Here is a vid showing the 1m guide fence and telescopic rod which gives cross cuts relatively up to 1900 I think I will get an extra 1m guide rail extension so I can cut repative lengths upto 2900 which will cover most common lengths for studs 2400 ceiling, architrave legs around 2100

That looks pretty cool. I wonder if an Incra track would fit the the fence? It would be nice for the repetetive stops that lock in verses relying on vision and the scale. I know that system works and can be repetetive, but it would be cool to get easy repetitive cuts. How heavy is the stand and extrusions? Do you have the sliding table for the saw?

Here is how someone has connected an incra track to an Erika. It's in German www.fine-tools.com/incra-anschlag-auf-mafell.html the fence and stand weigh I guess about 10kg. I haven't weighed it all the parts break down in to 1 m lengths. So can be stored very easily. At the moment I don't have the sliding table, it could be future purchase.

Wright is going to cost me more money. I have an order in with Timberwolf now for the extensions, think they should be close to arriving. Stangely David said the one meter fence was out of stock. The problem with the erika in the states is that if you want to add something you have to plan on a month for it to arrive. The telescoping rod looks like a keeper though. Thanks for the video. Tool junkie I have the sliding table and love it.

For around $200 he said he can place a special expedited order with Mafell in Gremany. I did this years ago when I was in need of drill bits for my ZB600 and received the drills the same week. Not that much extra to spend if you really need something now.

That might be correct with the 1m extension when I ordered mine it was out of stock and had to wait about 3 or 4 weeks to get it is maybe one of those items they don't stock and just make when the orders come in

This is not unique to Mafell - I know with some of my other European machinery that I have had to wait months, in some instances, to get the machines and accessories. I think the Erika in North America is certainly a special order item. Good to plan out accessories at the same time if your wallet can handle it so that everything arrives together.

That video demonstrates the dust collection fairly well. See 4:26. I'm not really sure there's a vac connected in this video as I can't see any hose going to the back of the saw. In any case OSB is definitely just as good of a material to check out your dust collection as MDF.

I could hear a vac running but maybe it wasn't connected. Sure seemed like a lot of dust.
