There's a thread currently on the FOG :
"When will Mafell build this machine? The current corded version seems prehistoric."
... the P1CC is an absolute gem of a tool, as much as I dislike cables!
There is a cordless P1CC in development, I've known about this for quite a while, it's not ready yet. Mafell being Mafell, it will be released when it's right, I will buy one, and I'll love it!
As an asides, the Festool Carvex is probably the most detested tool I have ever owned, not prehistoric, just useless!

That is good to hear it's in the works. Cant believe I will be paying 1200 ~ 1500 for a jig saw, but the combo of greatness + cordless will be worth it.

The hilti jigsaw is cordless and comes very close. I saw a video of the Hilti being used to scroll through plywood & 4x4 at the World of Concrete show and it got me wondering.

LOL, it's a USB flash stick. I adore my P1cc, and generally the cord isn't an issue. That being said, if/when I wear it out I'd consider getting cordless. I'm currently in the HILTI battery platform as well, so if I needed a cordless model for "rough" or intermediate work on-site I might err on the side of getting the HILTI for riding around in the van, reserving the Mafell for shop work.....

LOL, it's a USB flash stick. ... yes, not mine though!..
I agree, generally the cord isn't an issue, it's just that when it IS an issue, it's REALLY an issue! :-)

Hah-hah, yes, agreed! I'm in a bit of a transition stage of my career, toying with the idea of trying to line up more shop-based work, so I'm terribly indecisive these days about what exactly I want/need. If I was planning on a career of on-site cabinet installs I'd spring for a cordless P1cc in a heartbeat!

I will buy the P1cc cordless instantly when it is released. Love my P1cc and hope the accessories will fit. The P1cc only serves me in the work shop and never on site.
I do have the 36V Hikoki Multivolt barrel grip model which is fairly new and it is actually a very good battery jigsaw - possibly the best I have seen so far - and I think it is better than the Carvex. If there will never be a P1cc cordless it is "good enough".
It ain't no P1cc though.

I resisted getting a barrel grip for years - it's what finally pushed me to get the Carvex over the P1CC - it came as a D-handle... wouldn't go back to a D-handle now.

"Funny", as personally having had barrel grip Bosch wasn't overimpressed, current D handle Metabo feels more comfortable, especially for downward cutts...

I had the older Hitachi D-handle as a stop gap solution, I actually liked it but it won't cut square in thicker material reliably. For thin material I really like it, and it was cheap.
The new barrel grip MultiVolt Hikoki is a solid saw for sure. I really like it and if there will be no P1cc it will surely suffice.
They also have it as a D-handle MultiVolt but I think it is too cumbersome in that format for what I do. It looks very solid though.
The new D-handle 18V Hikoki looks like a model based on a really shitty model they released a few years back - very high vibration and very plasticky! I would not risk buying that model.
