Hey guys - when scribing cabinet fillers/scribers to walls and ceilings, I usually use a power planer and sometimes a bit of hand sanding. I'm thinking of switching to a sander for really irregular scribes - was interested in the festool RAS 115, but that's no longer available down here. Any other recommendations? Would a cordless grinder with a sanding disc be ok??

Yes a grinder with an appropriate disc works fine. I used one for years.

What are the best type of discs, John? And what do you use now, instead of a grinder?

Hi lincoln, Sorry for the delay. Yesterday was Christmas, things were a bit chaotic. I use a jigsaw, power plane, block plane, 4.5 inch Bosh grinder with a 60 grit disc, rasps and sandpaper for scribing. The 60 grit disc does a fine job of removing material and finger tips, I wouldn't use anything coarser. Recently got a Festool RAS which will probably replace the angle grinder. Happy Boxing Day, John Edit: Doh, it's not even Christmas yet Down Under.
