Well done, will take me a bit of time for a full reply as need to compose it and use a keyboard and not my phone.

Looking forward to both reading and participating in this thread. Just need to have a little sit down and think it over for a while before typing away.

Hi henrun ive just bought the makita 18v dls600 mitre saw so far pretty impressed , one small thing I can’t seem to find any replacement blades on the Uk net , the supplied blade is no b-56487 which is 64 tooth ,165mm x20 mm bore , the blade seems very good quality was wondering what you use “ have replaced it with “ that’s if you still have the saw ? Hopefully this is ok on this thread ? Kind regards Gary ps- it’s a 10 degree angle on the blade and looks like it’s alternate toothset “ I reckon a plunge saw blade might be ok ??

I can take a look at my spare blade and look at the details. I am not sure a plunge saw blade will perform the same, might be a difference in tooth angle. I have looked at alternative blades for it but need to jog my memory. I think I came to the decision that a plunge saw blade was not what I wanted, perhaps for lower teeth count as well as wrong tooth angle. The DLS 600 is still in the workshop - in my colleagues custody. A brilliant little saw it is. Since I got the Hikoki mini slider I have settled for that saw in this category and it too is brilliant in use though no dual bevel. With a piece under the material I can cut 200 mm width panels. Cut quality is excellent. The Hikoki/Hitachi 165mm blade is also excellent though spares are very hard to come by - need to order spares from Japan... I have bought extra Makita blades for the Hikoki instead. On the thread topic things are slowly coming together in my head. Just having a mad rush to tie off a year long project before my vacation starts. Hopefully I can get started soon enough!

After-market blades are often a let down after the initial 'wow this cuts well' of a new blade. For longevity, I've found OE blades are worth the money in the long run (in most cases). I have the supplied blade with the DLS600, and have also the Makita Aluminium cutting blade, although I haven't yet used it, but my experience with the Makita mitre saw blades tells me it will be very good.
The DLS600 stays with me at all times, so small it takes up next to no place in the van, so light, very battery efficient - it goes a long time without charging.

Same set up here, I have the original spare blade, which is cheap over here if you buy it from the right vendor. I also got me the aluminium blade, I have used it and it cuts like a champ too. Only I have used it on the Hikoki. Pricing over here varies wildly so when I found the blade at the "right" price I didn't hesitate to order two spares since the best price for the original blade was around 40% less than the local vendor and shipping was free. The DLS600 gets a lot of cuts on a single charge, very efficient.

I have threaded the LED light through the top handle on mine so it is down closer to the work to see better, and it doesn't get in the way when transporting/storing. It doesn't affect use of the handle either.

I couldn't find them on FFX, they're usually pretty good.. I got my spare blades on Amazon here in France.

So I still havent found the time to sit down and compile a post about my mixed bag that is still continuing to evolve.... Latest addition though is the makita 18v rebar tier. These are expensive but an amazing bit of kit. Turns a chore into a pleasure will post some pics and videos.
