I've been researching and some advert came up for a just over a year old, mint condition MS55 BL system with batteries for just under the half of original price... Something has to be wrong with it or... Might even be stolen? MY tools are all DNA marked and most of my tools are manufacturer registered, however different makers do different warranties and have (or not) database's. Is there a place (Mafell database), where, once inspected the saw to be as it is said to be, to check serial for it to not to be stolen?
Thanks!

As in can you verify if a person selling a tool is the one who registered for the warranty? I'm not aware of one. Do other companies do this?

Yes they do (or did) IE Hilti, once registered warranty, wouldn't sell no spare parts or repair, if they wouldn't confirm serial numbers. Same/similar with FesTool, I believe.

Cool, I suppose contacting a major distributor would be the best route of action for an answer. Haven't had much luck talking to mafell direct, myself.

As in would you be able to check if an individual selling an instrument is the person who enrolled for the guarantee? I'm not mindful of one. Do different organizations do this?

Mafell, Festool, Bosch etc., issue guarantee certificates, you can check with that.

As per usual on forums it never works out clear enough Not sure if I should be clarifying the question in hand either.
Lets say common brand tools as DeWalt makita etc, any part, any service needed any dealer can obtain parts or do service your tools.
Hilti, will only authorise repair or supply parts, IF you confirm tool serial (be it past warranty) that such hadn't been stolen and (or) reported such.
Didn't have nothing repaired Mafell, but I could buy spares and presumably get repairs/service done by dealers, even if tool has been stolen, as none dealer asked/required SN.
.................................. As it comes to the earlier mentioned saw: I didn't really intend to buy it for many reasons, as buying second hand tools is feeding shady trade at the best of the times... And I have bit of an issue to even touch someone's else's tools (lets say touching someone's sweaty bodily part), just wanted to see if it would've been possible to check not stolen, if some sort of database would be held by Mafell to be assured if it has been or not. Honestly, the add seemed genuine for the photo's, but too dodgy to be even tempted to buy it price ways.
(Saying all that, I had to buy s/h Lo50 router, as it isn't produced no more and seller has been most genuine etc... But some way to check if it wasn't stolen online or calling somewhere could've been beneficial).
