Patr: let the conniving begin!
I am in the midst of clearing out machinery for the purpose of either relocating and opening up my own workshop with a colleague OR joining up with another colleague in his shop OR staying put where I am. I could end up with an amalgamate of solutions as these three options are all in the same building involving four different shops...
Regardless of the choice made I feel I need to slim down before I commit or invest as I find that the years buzz by when you are a busy bee so if I don't open up my own shop now I prolly never will though it does come at a heavy toll unless we find a third guy to share the cost.
Between all involved there are five/six Domino machines, plenty of Mafell and Festools - personally I feel I want to wear out my own tools but there comes a point where it is simply ridiculous for three/four guys to all have one of each specialty tool in the same building - or in a possible near future; in the very same shop.

Ha!
I used to be indecisive, now I am not quite so sure!
Decisions, decisions and there is no clear answer as personalities are involved and with the best will in the world it takes some very special relationships to make ‘co-operatives’ work.
Sorry to hear about your DDF40. I had a feeling that you were not totally convinced with the machine and when that element of doubt gets under your skin it is difficult to shake off. Best to admit that not all is well and write it off to experience.
I must admit to a sense of disappointment at the machine but full of praise for the way the seller and the importer took the machine back and refunded me immediately. But I have put my conversion from green to red on hold as my experience and other reports (including yours) point to a worrying lack of quality control which, considering the high cost of the tools, is a less than satisfactory situation.

The Zeta is a beautifully engineered tool, fantastic to use, and has the same switch as a DD40P!.. I will keep the P, forget the F - had a look at the baby domino the other day - the big one is too big for me. Maybe one day I'll stop buying tools!

Mine got a smile when I made her some storage gear for the Frau-cave... It is rare and hence noteworthy.
