Yes it's new. I'm guessing Mafell have done their sums and decided it's powerful enough to cut 60mm. Will be interesting to hear the first reviews here once one has got out into the wild.

...having just had a good look at the photos - they're showing a mains one with a Cuprex motor - no battery in sight - so maybe Mafell don't even have one to try yet!

Ah yes I forgot, Mafell are just slow to update their website!.. it looks good... I am very Mafell greedy and would like one, but I won't bite right now!

I’ve had the kss60 36v for sometime and feel it’s under powered for its cutting depth capability. I can’t see the 18v being better. Some posted here they felt the kss50 18v is under powered as well.

I'm a little surprised that they haven't followed Makita and Metabo's example of using paired 18v batteries for these larger tools. I have the KSS-40 18v and LOVE it for its mobility, but even with the 120mm blade it's not too difficult to engage the motor cutout.
I suppose it's up to the end-user whether they'd place a heavier emphasis on raw power versus mobility.
Something else to note is that the corded KSS 60 has variable speed control (2700-4700 rpm), whereas the cordless version is a fixed speed of 4450.
