Hi,
Do Mafell sell a single piece 3100mm track for this saw?
I see Bosch do but don’t seem to be able to see any made by Mafell.
Also, could a 10 foot panel (3050mm) be cut along the length with the 3100mm track?
Thanks.

You have about 65mm of saw base to rail engagement before a fully plunged blade starts cutting, more if you’re not plunging as deep. So if you were to place the end of the rail at the beginning edge of material you should still be able to get good registration with saw hanging off material and rail. But most would just drop the saw fully supported on top of the track and then plunge down to start cut. To finish cut, the saw base is still (approx) 80% supported as blade exits material. So you could, and I have, cut with a rail that is a little shy of both start and end cut atop material.
As you might know the Bosch / Mafell rails are identical extrusions except for silkscreening of brand names & color of rubber.
I think mafell does make a F310 (at least I've seen them advertised) and I can see the preference for wanting a one piece length if always cutting 3048 but I think if you ask around you will find confidence in joining rails with couplings very high here. Two 1600’s offer easier storage / transport / versatility with an extra 100mm added to make end to end placement less fiddley.

Thanks for the info.
Transport / storage isn’t really an issue as all the cutting would be done in one location with plenty of space.
We’ll mainly be cutting down 8x4, 10x4 and 10x5 sheets. Just thinking it would be quicker to have a 1600mm for the cross cuts and then either a 3100mm for the lengths or... 2 more 1600mm’s that pretty much always stay connected rather than having to disconnect / reconnect all the time.
I would have thought they’d have made the long rail 3200mm rather than 3100mm to accommodate a 10 foot sheet more easily.
Thanks.

I'll always check the German sites when looking for the more obscure stuff - Amazon.de LINK But you might also consider a 2100 + a 1600 or other combination (?)

Also, could a 10 foot panel (3050mm) be cut along the length with the 3100mm track? Thanks. Just as with all other guiderail "manufacturers" it's all rather a Furphy. As far as I'm aware, no power tool manufacturer actually MAKES guiderails. None. The cost of purchase, commissioning & operation of low-volume aluminium moulding extruders specific to guiderails would be way too prohibitive to make economic sense. Instead, all would presumably be subcontracted to better equipped, more experienced specialist manufacturers. Festool I believe does have a special "assembly" line in Indiana?? where they unpack bulk shipments supplied by their Continental 3rd party contractor/s, add Festool stickers & maybe adhesive strips & then repackage as their own product, thereby qualifying for "made in USA" certification. Here's my guess: Festo/ol, Metabo & other similar designs & micro-variants come from the same manufacturer. Similarly the newest Metabo & the same but older Mafell/Bosch design come from the same manufactory as each other. Perhaps the same actual subcontractor as the others too? Certainly, the only physical, operational or other difference between the latter 2 (& probably the new Metabo ones as well?) is in the colour scheme of their attached stickers/decals & the colour of their grip & anti-splinter strips. THEY'RE OTHERWISE INDISTINGUISHABLE, interchangeable and operationally seamless in every possible way.

Nope... that 3100 deal is a FT because the aligning two rails is a mongrel (from what I understand). i was so avoidant of it is why I got the MT55. it is just too easy, the two 1600 rails connect and disconnect in about 15 seconds and are always spot on. they are a bit unwieldy at 3200 for more than plopping on/off the sheets. i disconnect them just to walk back to the garage with them.
