Hi, Looking to get a track saw for cutting down slightly atypical materials... acrylic (3mm, 5mm, 10mm), ACM (3mm) and Foam PVC (10mm). Sometimes these materials will have either printed and laminated self adhesive vinyl applied to the face or be direct UV printed prior to cutting. Looking to get as good an edge as possible on these materials and hopefully not damaging the printed face / edge. Dust collection is also very important. There will also be some wood, MDF etc in there as well but that would be a secondary use. Looking at the Mafell, Bosch and the Festool. Does one of these models stand out as being more suitable for these types of materials? My first choice currently is the Mafell just because it's seems to be the better built tool but after reading the following I was just a bit concerned it's going to limit my blade choices... mafell-users-forum.freeforums.net/thread/979/bosch-gkt-55Considering I may have to do a bit of experimenting with different blades am I better off going with one of the other brands? I don't necessarily mind paying a bit extra for blades I just don't want to find out I can't use certain blades that would be perfect for the task I'm trying to complete. Thanks.

To my knowledge there's a very good selection of blades in the 160mm range. The 160mm diameter seems overkill for the thickness of materials you mentioned. Some people here have stated that the 165mm blades fit into the MT55 and that they use them regularly without modification but you need to weigh any potential risks to the saw or yourself if you attempt this. There's also a sawblade thread here where you might pick up some more info.

I am not sure what the ACM acronym stands for, The aluminium clad signboard in 3-mm has the saw goes through like butter. So any of those saws should be great.
For me the signboard usually gets cut along the 8' length at some point. The requires two of the Bosch rails and the rail connector. With FT you would need the "Betterly connector" or then 3-m rail. For my money it was cheaper to get the MAfell once I added in the cost of the FT rails. So I would be recommending the Mafell or Bosch, as the rails are better.
There are a ton of fanboi posts on FOG, just search rails and Holmz over there.
The FT would work perfectly fine for what you mention assuming it is plastic <=10-mm

Thanks guys. ACM = Aluminium Composite Material, sometimes ACP (Panel). But yeah it’s the stuff you’re thinking of.
The blade size seems like a non issue then. It’s sometimes difficult knowing what is or isn’t going to be a problem prior to purchase.
Thanks.
