I think I saw a comment on that once but I can't find it. It was just a short opinion that Mafell don't seem interested in doing that.
What are your thoughts? The P1CC is one of Mafell's most iconic products, an undisputed champion in it's class. On paper it seems like it would be a dream combo with a brushless motor and the LiHD batteries. What am I missing?
One of the reasons I am bringing this up is because I am contemplating on buying the Metabo STA 18 LTX 100... anyone have a opinion about that one too? Metabo cordless products now being "part of the family" makes for some interesting options and choices.

OK First things first. The Mafell has 900w of power. No cordless jiggy to date even approaches that type of output. Mafell don't make any EC motors either that I'm aware of, instead relying on 3rd party contract supply. Principally, if not exclusively Metabo.
Metabo do produce EC motors in sufficient quantity & variety to support Mafell-type levels of output (roughly one horsepower or so). Yet Metabo haven't contracted with Mafell as yet to supply motors for an EC jiggy. You'd still require an input of around at least 800-900W & a one horse output simply to drive those big, wide, energy hungry & inefficient "double width" handmade V-section blades too, not to mention a major re-engineering of a 3rd partys' blade grip, eject & pendulum drive mechanisms.
I'm sure there's one in the pipeline, but realistically (& entirely speculatively) it may actually be a decade or more away from production. Remember that Mafell is into precision engineered small batch production here, not full-on assembly line mass production the likes of either Makita, Milwaukee or the other far eastern manufacturers. R&D expenditure is likewise proportionally greater when amortised across smaller anticipated production runs too.
I personally wouldn't countenance the purchase of Metabo's LTX100. Henrik (feel free to jump in here cobber) had a 240V version in which he was singularly unimpressed. He says (I think) that the LTX140 he now owns is better, if a trifle vibratory. I've the 140 mains version myself, which I rather like. In fact it's the best Jiggy I've owned. Previous machines have been Metabo & Bosch 135s, a Festo Trion (absolute crap), an old AEG which was an ergonomic gem & an even older Elu. Sure, it's no Mafell, but at half the price and with minimal real-world usage anticipated it more than suits my own rather modest requirements. In some ways I think it might actually be a preferable choice to the Mafell in heavier gauge sheet steel from 4-10mm. Metabo always were one of the premier metalworking power tool manufacturers, whereas Mafell is much more predicated around woodwork.

Huntsgemein is right on about both the jigsaws and my assessment. The _corded_ STA100 was so poor that I was really perplexed by the shitty performance!!! The design and base looks like a Hitachi offering that has been rebadged and considering I generally like Hitachi gear I was really disappointed with it.
I was almost going to try the LTX100 18V for the slim shape as I could not believe how bad the corded was but I played it safe and stuck with the LTX140 18V. I do sell off my battery machines every two years and repurchase the ones I like to keep them under warranty and with fresh batteries. I only do this with the beater machines that get a lot of use. If it is a high quality machine I don't use that often I run it until it croaks - but considering the low cost of Metabo Solo units getting a new one is literally chump change in the greater scheme of things.
I do run the Metabo LTX140 which is a solid saw and cuts (slightly) better than the Festool 420 Carvex for squareness and power in thicker material and it has very good and easy blade change - and needs no accessories to tilt the base. Metabo soles are cheap and it can be attached to the FSN rail system though I have never tried it. The Carvex is smoother in operation (less vibration) but the Metabo is good - you just have to keep the pressure on to the material more carefully with the Metabo or it can start vibrating a little more than the Carvex. I actually have a fairly new Carvex too (!) which is one I inherited after a tool swap with a colleague and yes - even that third/turd Carvex 420 is crap. I run it as a "no frills beater" on site which is hilarious considering the price. I don't plan on ANY accessories for it. I used it today and it quit during an easy cut and I had to remove the battery to restart it and when I changed the blade - well, when I tried to change the blade - I got a reminder of why I dislike the Carvex so much. Since I got it for free I don't "hate" it and it does the job but the Metabo is a better jigsaw. Last I heard anything from the Mafell rep (a few months back) there was still no positive news on a cordless P1cc. I might be able to meet up with two Mafell reps in a few weeks time and I will pester them about the maturity of LiHD and the alluring prospect of a cordless P1cc but I ain't holding my breath. The Metabo STA 140 is well worth the asking price if you get it as a SOLO unit. I also have the Multicutter MT 18 LTX and they share a small Systainer and make up for a very good cutting package indeed. The Multicutter has a LED light and takes all blades on the market and is also a great little machine. Again, for the asking price and coupled with a LiHD 3,5 or 4Ah they are basic but solid machines.

The largest Mafell rep over here has told Mafell that many customers would like a P1cc in 18V and their reply as of this year is that they are not even working on one.

Has anyone tried the Hilti cordless jigsaw?

no but funny you mention it, I just saw the SJT 6-A22 for the first time yesterday and have been looking for the scroll blade I saw in the video. The blade had small teeth on the back of the blade to expand tight curves to allow blade to turn easier than the P1cc (or so it looked). The strange thing is that the Hilti uses a blade roller guide so I have no idea how the teeth on the back of the blade are supposed to interact with the roller.

Looks Mafell-ish. Slap a sticker on it and we're done!
Never seen that Hilti machine in the flesh. Grip looks good, slim barrel and probably decent to great ergonomics. I don't have anything Hilti and would not buy it as a stand alone unit but it does look solid. Don't know how it cuts.

It's been on the cards since around 2019/20 - should be out next year...
Carvex - one of the worst tools I've ever owned.

Thanks, I bit the bullet and bought the Jigsaw. Got it with a very good discount couldn't turn down. Very happy with it. Also bought the KSS60 18MBL. Can't wait to use that.
