Hi All, I finally pulled the trigger on buying the cordless track saw from Mafell. I have not had a chance to use it yet but I am wondering how you all pack up the systainer. I really liked how Festool had a place for almost everything related to the saw in the systainer. For the mafell, I don't see how to get in the charger and the batteries in a neat and steady way, let alone the clamps and whatever else I get for it. As it was, somehow the parallel edge guide fell out of its place during shipping and wedged the lid to the systainer closed. I had to kind of jiggle things around to get the lid open and re-situate things. Its a bit disappointing, but perhaps I am missing something here. Any thoughts? I am looking forward to using the saw on Tuesday for an installation I have scheduled. Cheers,

The rail bag pouch can hold a surprising amount of accessories.

The basic system should squeeze into the rather dodgy plastic box that it's supplied with. This later gen. of Tanos boxes seem to be a bit more flimsy than previously, esp in larger sizes which obviously carry more weight & bulk, thus approaching the limit of their usefulness. Exercise care with this, particularly any accumulation of dust or swarf around the top handle, which can cause it to break off @ the ends. The batts. & charger can be squeezed in around the nested saw, the charger on its side.: the bigger, more powerful German chargers won't fit as easily. Be careful with the blade tips on the power cord. You might be able to shoehorn in a spare blade or 2 (sans packaging) down one side or other. Just use the way you originally unpacked the saw as a guide for repackaging.
Any additional accessories (stops, joiners, angle guides) can be easily accommodated in either pocket of the Bosch/Mafell rail bag, as Kraftt has already mentioned.

For my Makita 36v track saw I bought a Sys IV and Festool TSC55 foam insert for the Sys IV. Saw fit with minimal customization. Holds a lot of extras.
No idea if the same approach would work for the Mafell.

My new mt55 cordless arrived yesterday only fired it up so far, very much looking forward to using it . Not tried it out myself but it did strike me as it may be tight to get in two 7.0 lihd metabo batteries and the metabo asc ultra fast charger ,I’ll try it out and report back .” With a bit of luck henrun will chime in he’s the man/oracle on this type of stuff “ thankfully so 👍

The 7.0ah batteries are the exact same size, you will be good. The New 8.0ah battery is actually the same size as the 5.5ah battery, but in the redesigned battery shell.

Thanks Guys, I will get it all packed out. Its a bummer to spend so much only to have to spend more on a bag or new insert from Festool. Oh well, the things we do for our tools these days. . . I will let you know how it works on the install.

So I was able to use the saw on an install I did this week and wanted to offer a few points of experience.
1) I really like the saw! It sound a bit week on start up, but that is the nature of cordless, it sounds different than corded tools. Upon entering the cut on 3/4 (19mm) plywood it maintained blade speed through the cut. It was perfectly smooth. I believe I will be very very happy with this little saw.
2) I thought dialing in the saw base to the track was a little more touchy than the festool, and even still I feel a bit of resistance on the track. I will play with it more today and see if I can dial it in more.
3) Dust collection was more than excellent! There were a few cuts I made without the vacuum, using the bag, there is virtually 0 dust around the cut. The dust collection is so much better than Festool, I didn't think it was possible. I am very excited about this improvement.
4) I cannot find the Allen key for the blade changes. Can someone tell me where it is? If it is not on the tool that would be stupid! But I am sure Mafell wouldn't do that.
5) I was able to preorder a bunch of accessories from Toolnut.com branded as Bosch. I believe they are actually Mafell pieces only blue and almost half the cost. I am excited for the router guide and the angel guide for the FSN track. I have never had great luck with Festool router adapter for the track.
6) Can some one tell me this: the saw comes with a 1.8mm kerf saw blade. I have an abundance of Festool blades that would be a shame to not use, but they are 2.2 kerf. In your opinion, will it matter much to use a wider blade (other than changing where the blade cuts on the rubber strip on the track)? Noticeable decrease in battery life, decreased power through the cut, etc?
That's it for now. I need to go figure out the other features and see if I will need to use them. Cheers,

Grab a Metabo 7.0ah or even better, the new 8.0ah LiHD battery. It will really wake the saw up, increase in power and runtime.
You will want the ASC Ultra rapid charger as well. 6.5 amp charge rate.
