Hi, I'm currently considering to purchase Erika 60 E to be used in my very small workshop for building furniture. I only have space and budget for a small table saw. I've weighted saws like DeWalt DW745, Bosch GTS 10 J, Festool CS 50/70 and Kity 491 clones (Axminster, Bernardo, etc have such models). I'd be super happy with one of those old Inca table saws I'd like to have more accuracy and precision than the jobsite saws. The smaller festool feels a bit too small for me and the bigger one with rip fence is beyond my budget. And those chinese cast iron clones always need extensive overhaul before use (dust collection, tuning, etc). I just recently learned about Erika 60, and based on the very scarce stuff online it looks very promising (looking up stuff on Erikas is like trying to get into a hidden cult or something!). I think Erika 60 with side extension and rip fence would fit my needs fine. The rip fence is marked as to be used only with Erika 70/85, could it be used on Erika 60 too? Looks like the dovetail rails are the same on all models, so technically yes? Is the fence too heavy for Erika 60? I'm planning to put the saw on a rolling cart, so weight would not be an issue.

I don't have the 60 but I am also extremely space-conscious and simply use the basic fence for ripping so there's one less thing I have to store. The markings aren't exactly dead accurate so I square it up with a giant Woodpeckers triangle I already keep around and don't really think too much more about it. If I really need firm support across the full length of the table then I clamp a hunk of 25mm 80/20 extrusion on as an auxiliary fence. As far as I'm aware, the only thing I'm really missing out on is the fine adjustment knob.

Thanks for the reply! Good to know that such simple setup works too. Do you just square the fence when you start ripping, or does it need to be squared all the time when adjusting the width? The table saw at my workshop is mostly used for ripping, so I wish the setup was quick and easy and always spot on. Quick and easy of course depends what you are used to. I currently spoiled with heavy Biesemeyer style fence, and a gentle tap is all you need for micro adjustment. I found an old advertisement, which shows ripping using universal fence and fence guide extension. The universal guide is located next to the blade (back of the saw) and the front of the fence is fastened using the clamping element. holzhaltig.com/wp-content/uploads/mafell_erika_funktionen.jpg(from holzhaltig.com/gesaegt-getan/)Has anyone tried using the router fence as rip fence?

I *do* double check that it stays square any time that I move the fence, but I can't remember the last time I actually had to adjust it after doing so unless I had completely removed it and flopped it over to another edge of the table.
That said, any time that I'm ripping anything, it's generally to uniform widths I never want to change, so your mileage may vary.
