Yes, the perfect box system does not exist. I am a slightly interested in the Sortimo/L-Boxx system mainly because they fit a few items a little better than T-Locs.
Main issue with T-Locs is that the knobs/T-Locs fly off to easily.
Makita are a pain to use when they are new, them latches are stiff! Stacked they are a pain...
Best so far (as in bang for the buck) are actually the Metabo T-Locs, compatible and better, metal, latches and top and side handles integrated in small and medium sizes. Handles are a bit slick though. Considerably cheaper too.
I might divide my set up into different boxes now that I use a larger cart as a base unit for transportation. T-Locs are easy to sell and could transition at no loss except for the shopping spree time. I am kind of over the same color for all Systainers.

I think you will find that Midi Systainers fill the void for your large box needs.

I ordered one each of all the Auer range just to see and test - very impressed, especially the rack/drawers and sort boxes to go in the rack. Very cheap too - cheap enough not to worry if they get damaged. The company is the biggest PITA to deal with ever. I will order lots more when I have the energy and patience to deal with them. German efficiency?.. not with them!

Yep, they're nice looking boxes. I'm thinking about switching all my boxes out to these for a few reasons... the original systainers can keep little used accessories etc., stored in my workshop and will be in excellent condition at point of resale (yes I will sell my Mafell tools - to buy new ones!), also they are cheap boxes so I really don't care about damage to them, but the main reason is that if someone sees my open van while I'm working or loading/unloading, they will see a wall of plain grey boxes - not a wall of Mafell, Festool, Lamello, Mirka, etc., systainers.

I dug up the FOG post about them. Good info, great product. I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to do a bank wire and wait 2-3 months everytime I buy a tool with no case, however. Speaking of boxes, I got the corresponding lboxx's to go with this month's Bosch kick. My memory was way more forgiving, the Sortimos are pretty whack. :0 They're good enough, though. Seeing that I didn't have to pay up the butt to make customized Bosch-esque color systainers, and they're for tools that will mostly sit on the shelf. I may grab another one and transfer over my angle grinder and multimaster and proxxon rotary, since I just don't use those much. I noticed that they are in no way "heavier duty" than the systainers. Not sure why I had that impression; but it was about five years ago since I last touched one.

I priced up getting anther 10 or so Systainers, plus 8 systainer T'loc drawers (forgotten the name) as this is the most practical way to organise hardware, router cutters etc - well over 2000€. I can do the same order with Auer for under 1000€ - it's a big enough difference I can wait a couple of months.

Sorry for multiple posts, with my darling angel who is currently singing "Do you want to build a snowman?" through the bathroom door. :0
As I was saying: Those Auer parts racks are obviously a million times better than the Festool/Tanos equivelant (Rack Systainer) Haven't researched the prices at say Vantainer, but in North America, they want over $250 for something that is literally mostly inexpensive Raaco cases.
The original standard sortainers are horrible for small parts, hardware and accessories. The new sortainers are a massive improvement, but not at all similar to what you need.

I had forgot about them Auer 'tainers, they have a Swedish site and shipping is free over a certain amount of moolah. They look great.
...ah well, if I ever feel spendy. Don't have a budget for replacing my Tanos but after I started packing things in Midi and the Mafell sarcophagus I need less boxes.

I'm sorry, Brice, I run the corded version and that totally slipped by me. I'm glad it works, barely, but I'll warn people in the future, considering there are other parallel guide systems out there that may be different heights.

well after a short experience with both these saws I am very impressed. They make Festool saws seems junky. And that says a lot.
Next saw for me is the kss 50
