Tom how does that Oneida Dust Cobra perfom on your Erika? How much of an improvement over a "standard" dust extractor like a Festool CT or Starmix would you say it is?

Thank you for this really great tip! I also did the mod but used the ones I could find at my local store. They look a bit smaller and made of metal, the feel is really nice! KIPP lever
Cheers, fred

Tom how does that Oneida Dust Cobra perfom on your Erika? How much of an improvement over a "standard" dust extractor like a Festool CT or Starmix would you say it is? Hi Jonathan!! I've been meaning to write a review of the Oneida Dust Cobra and the Nilfisk Attix 33/44 for the last few months but I've been up to my eyeballs in work, hopefully things will settle down in the next few days and I'll be able to share my thoughts. In a nutshell, I really like the Oneida Dust Cobra for shop use. I haven't had a chance to compare it head-to-head with a CT-style vac, but my perception is that it outperforms them. Oneida Dust Cobra: 245 cfm @ 23" S.P., 70" WC, measured at the end of 25' of 2.5" hose. Festool CT-26/36: 137 cfm, 96" static water lift, measured at vacuum inlet With a 17 gallon capacity, the Dust Cobra has nearly double the capacity of the CT-36. The plastic liner bags for the Dust Cobra cost ~$0.89, compared to ~$7-10/bag for most CT-style vacs, so you're paying ~1/20th per gallon for disposal bags. I have my Dust Cobra connected to an iVac Pro remote control. For most tasks I use a Nilfisk 32mm dust hose directly off the Dust Cobra, but I also get great performance using a 12' 50mm hose extension. I'll post more detailed reviews soon. Note that the Dust Cobra is available as a 240v Export version.

I wonder if there's enough width clearance on the Erika fence for Jessem's TS Stock Guides? Mine slow rips down to a crawl, but they're still totally radical.

I have mounted the TS Stock Guides on my Erika and they work great. They do hang over the right side of the fence a ways, so longer term I'll probably want to find a separate extrusion to permanently mount them, and just swap fences when I plan to use them. Woodhaven sells nice 10-24 t-nuts, just grind them down a tiny bit and they slide into the Mafell t-tracks great.

Liked the idea, but twisting is still twisting and that's the most annoying part of adjusting the fences for me. I went with cam clamps instead and it worked a treat. Forum's not letting me upload a pic, but I went with 5720K72: www.mcmaster.com/#5720k72/=1ce0sp2

How about everyone start using a free Photobucket account or similar service ?
I just opened a fake account and posted an image and it worked great.
For use in these forums I copied and pasted their supplied IMG file to embed. So back to using IMGUR.com. You can upload and post but I've yet to figure out how to embed, only link. (on this forum you would typically click the 'insert image' button in the upper right side of reply box then enter link but I can't get it to work. perhaps brighter minds will chime in and offer a solution.) orignal test image: imgur.com/a/OOfo7

Lol, they f***ed me. (just noticed myself the image got scrubbed)
maybe I was too aggressive with the privacy settings.
-------------------------------------
*Edit - Ok, i see what the problem is. Hadn't used Photobucket in ages and now see that in 2017 they stopped allowing third party hosting for free accounts. The original image showed up because they wanted it to so they could block it and get me to go back to the site and sign up for paid.
I notice that Instagram account images and videos embed no problem, of course that's really facebook though.

perhaps brighter minds will chime in and offer a solution. I've never been a fan of outside hosting for forum photos - things change, people move on, and the result is a fragmented forum with half the photos missing. Part of the problem (forums in general...) is that people take high-res images and post direct, quickly using up storage space and bandwidth, both of which cost money - not to mention download times (and sometimes costs) for those on slower (or capped) connections. Limiting images to 1200x800 for example, gives perfectly good enough quality for a forum, without using up too much space. I know it's been mentioned before that us regular users chip in $5 or $10 for Ghostfists' time and outlay (which is much appreciated, thanks!)... but I understand it's complicated.

The unfortunate reality is that all free forum software is generally very old and very buggy. The upload dialog doesn't really even work in any modern browser and I've always had to fake it out by going into the inspector and twiddling the markup to force the POST to the endpoint manually, so the odds of them ever integrating with an external service are pretty slim.
Not saying anyone should go sink actual money into anything else just so I can post a silly picture of a cam clamp, just sayin' that's generally the way it is.
